Re: Just some population graphs
Would it be possible to show population as a % of total players, similar to how the front page does it?

Re: Just some population graphs
Makes sense then. It just feels like to me Order is always the underdog, but that's just how I see it- it's probably not entirely true.shoelessHN wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:20 amDuring NA order zerged the server for like 2 years straight.3rdworldofficer wrote: Thu Jan 09, 2025 11:47 pm This is really neat. Also, if this is accurate info, and I'm reading it correctly, then that means Order is almost always outnumbered, which is surprising to me- I always thought more would choose Order. Guess not.
But a lot of them are the same players they just swap to the side that gets easy keeps/forts because it is rewarded and defending a keep from the zerg has almost zero reward.

I hope I understood you correctly - I changed the combined-total graph to reflect the % per realm, hope that works for you!

Re: Just some population graphs
Small UI suggestion - could you provide some type of tabs/list to swap between different graph types (and to know what's available in the first place), without the need to cycle through them to go back to the beginning?Wholdar wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 9:35 pm I enjoy observing trends and have often looked at the current population numbers displayed on RoR's homepage. However, I couldn’t find any graphs or visualizations for these numbers over time—perhaps I missed something!
Being curious, I’ve taken the liberty of scraping the webpage every 5 minutes (hopefully none of the RoR devs object to this—if so, just let me know, and I’ll stop) and feeding the data into an old trusty RRD file. From there, I generate a few graphs, also every 5 minutes.
Here’s the result:

Maybe someone else will find this interesting, and it should get more compelling as more data accumulates. I’ve only been scraping for about two days so far.

Duh, of course that has to be there... This is what happens when I just add stuff, forgetting the obvious.xyeppp wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:59 am Small UI suggestion - could you provide some type of tabs/list to swap between different graph types (and to know what's available in the first place), without the need to cycle through them to go back to the beginning?
Thanks for pointing it out. Added a dropdown!

Re: Just some population graphs
Think I just managed to get a count of kills now aswell. Numbers are a bit botched a the beginning, but should be solid now.

Hope someone finds it useful!

Sure, now that I got the kills out of the way (still gonna do some percentage-stuff with it I think), I'll dig a bit deeper.
Will probably find something graphable.

Re: Just some population graphs
Update: Added Scenario-Wins graphs.
They're a bit boring since not many get concluded within each 5-minute period, but hey, the data's there!

Someone on Discord requested it.
Now, time to dig deeper into that API...
