Imagine for a sec that "fetch" is removed in the form it is RN and instead replaced by some "Not-so-terrible Embrace" which would mirror maras pull (leap would need to be disabled in loner's spec tho).
I reckon WLs would reroll back to slayers en-masse lol (reverse of what has happened back when SLs rampage got nerfed).

I don't object to either class having a pull option, but do object to the fact the 65ft length is completely broken. I am regularly pulled from the 100ft range (including off of walls while in keeps). I don't think the broken pull length is a controversial point. The Powers not even making any attempt to address this is what is shocking to me.

Perhaps you were in range? Don't mirror abilities like that. It is not what this game is about.

If a mara is out of range of a 80ft spell, but can pull from that same distance (an ability that is listed as 65ft) then something is amok. Mara can pull you from the Altdorf.
Any ability that changes position of others is a big pain for net games with high trust policy to client side. If someone has issues with high ping from time to time can see how every one start blinking on screen, but himself has smooth movement without rollback. Old net code and poor net policy in terms of "fair play", ok for coop, bad for competitive play. And without access to client code nothing to do with it, only server side tweaks like distance check for 3sec casts. Even with access, this has no good solutions - every net code solution has own trade off.
Best way - don't make such abilities, if you know about state of net code in project. But such abilities alredy in game.
