Warhammer Online Hardcore Event

Hear me now, warriors of the Old World!
In the blood-soaked lands of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, death has grown soft.
Men fall… and rise again.
Elves perish… and return to battle.
Greenskins are cut down… only to laugh and charge once more.
No longer!
In the brutal world of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, death is usually just a setback. Not this time. Welcome to the Return of Reckoning Hardcore Event where every pull, every dungeon, every disconnect could be your last!

Event Start
Shepasaurus and Serjekk will introduce the event on our second podcast this Friday, February 20th live at 21:15 EST (GMT -5). If you wish to get a jump start, have at it!
Core Rule: Permadeath
  • You get ONE LIFE.
  • If your character dies for any reason, be it pvp, fall damage, bad pull, bad call, bad luck, disconnect… you must delete your character immediately. No appeal. No exceptions.
  • This is an honor system event. Integrity is everything.
The Goal: Two Paths to Immortality
Each path will award players with unique challenges and once verified, respect and bragging rights!

Path One: The Undying
  • Reach Level 40. That’s it. Once you reach level 40 you can retire your HC character, if you wish. Or you can attempt greater recognition with path two.
Path Two: Indestructible
  • Complete all of your wards and equip FULL Darkpromise
  • Mount Gunbad -> Bilerot Burrow / Crypts -> Bastion Stairs -> Lost Vale.
Event Rules
Identity - You must create a fresh character, identified with “Hardcore” (ex: Charactername Hardcore) as your surname so everyone knows you’re risking it all.
  • Order can visit Registrar Harlen in Altdorf (x: 26,500, y: 29,800)
  • Destro can visit Saldis Stormrend in the Northern section of IC
Death & Afterlife - If you die, you delete. You may reroll and start over, however no continuing on the same character after death.
  • If you do not wish to delete and want to continue that character, just remove the Hardcore surname to take that character out of the event.
PVE - We recommend leveling through Player Vs Environment (All wards can be earned through PvE).
RvR/SCs - PvP is allowed, but if you die, that’s the end!
Recognition - Once you achieve Career Rank 40 and FULL Darkpromise gear, share your screenshots with us on the Hardcore RoR Discord to gain the immortality you deserve!

Important Notes
  • This event is intended to be difficult and challenge players to find new ways to play. You will have to think outside the box as normal gearing options may not always be the best answer. If you don’t agree with these rules, then you don’t have to participate.
  • The base game itself has no built-in permadeath mechanic — death normally gives debuffs and respawns you at a town or rally point.
  • Hardcore rules in WAR are entirely community-driven, not enforced by the developers. Players agree to delete their own characters when they die as part of the challenge.
  • If you do not wish to delete your character after you die for this challenge, then we recommend changing your character’s name to remove the “Hardcore” surname.

No rule against leveling in a party? that will make the first challenge pretty easy.

We considered a wide range of possible rules but decided against some of them. While we could create a whole laundry list of rules and regulations, we decided we would keep this one simple to allow for many different ways to play. We plan on revisiting the rules in the future, depending on how serious this becomes. The goal here is to have fun and provide a challenge to veterans and players seeking a life of immortality!
