Re: Abandoning WOW
This game can be hard to get into because unlike virtually every other MMO even other private servers for older games this one is not "solved" and information is hard to find. While that might sound like a bad thing, I think it is refreshing to have something like imo to still play.
The community is small, so you will get to know people just by seeing them often, and thats another bonus versus games that just have a sea of random players you likely will never see again.
Like peter said finding a guild should be your #1 priority.
I would reccomend by starting to play some classes you are intetested in to level 16 or so on both sides. Shop around for guilds and find one that suits your vibe. This can easily be done by joining their discord and looking through their channels to see what people talk about and if that aligns with you.
Being in a guild with players you enjoy being around is going to massively increase your enjoyment. This game is hard to play by yourself especially when you are new.

Welcome to RoR!
I’m also a veteran from WoW, GW2, ESO, and many other MMOs, and I can honestly say: I’m having the time of my life here. This game scratches an itch that the 'big' titles haven't touched in years. RoR is absolutely worth the effort, and the community—though small—is incredibly dedicated.
Choosing an Ork is always a solid move for some 'stupid fun'! Just dive in, find a good group, and don't let the learning curve discourage you. It’s a blast!
See you on the battlefield!

Re: Abandoning WOW
Not sure what you meant by corny fun in the OP, but greenskins have the biggest RP community alongside drawfs, so of you are into that you can check out those guilds.dcrossley wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 9:28 pm Much Obliged and OFC I chose ork.....THE BIG BASTARD! lol This will be fun!
Black orc is a great pick, id advise against choppa as your first character though as MDPS needs a lot of support to function well.
