[Ironbreaker] Gearing Question.

New player here. Is this paragraph from Uchoo's lad to chad guide still relevant in 2026 for ironBreaker? or is there better armour sets/combination to farm for ironbreaker?
After this, we’ll use our trusty combination of Redeye and Vanquisher to save War Crests. I recommend using either 3 Vanquisher + 3 Redeye or 4 Vanquisher + 2 Redeye or 4 Vanquisher + 3 Redeye if you want to spend extra War Crests and use a Block Ravack’s cloak from the Auction House for your backpiece. This is the gear setup you will use until Sovereign in order to save War Crests. Vanquisher Gloves and Boots are Bind on Equip so you can get them from the Auction House or have a friend buy them for you with their extra War Crests. The other gear sets such as Conqueror and Invader are interesting but are simply not worth the amount of extra time you will spend grinding for crests.

Vanq Gloves, Boots, Belt + the rest Redeye or buy Vanq Shoulders for the extra block if you choose to go 4/2 or 4/3. The difference between 4/2 and 4/3 is Redeye Cloak, which requires farming a dangerous side-boss up to 3 times or Ravack’s Cloak for its own benefits.

There's no cloak set bonus anymore but you can still use the 2 Redeye, Vanq comes from RvR bags now so you might get lucky with a few pieces and run the full set, Onslaught and Darkpromise are also very strong along with the DP weapons and worth looking at if you can get the groups for them.

People is obssed with save crest, you can go PvE path, then you will save max crest until full set sov gear. I remember that invader was really good gear for IB, wathever set that gives block bonus, but soon arrive set changes, so i dont know.

I think the path now, before changes is invader -> LV -> SoV. If you wanna save crests, then i dont know

Best possible starter tanking set is full onslaught, because as last bonus it gives tons of ini so you can free up some FS ranks in RR. You can even get carried in redeye gear doing ch22 so if you want to get a set that will carry you till sov then its best option.

Join discords of big guilds, plenty run those. I personally recommend joining Retribution for that, quickest and most chill runs you will ever find.

Also skip gunbad, too much of a chore and very time consuming. Just buy conq gloves&boots from AH or ask in /ad /5 maybe someone will gift you those and buy rest with crests, thats gonna be ~600 crests. Its way quicker then to pug gunbad.

So, tl;dr - get conq, it will be enough to tank ch22, C&T and Bastion as well (sent and bloodlord are 2h sets, suboptimal for snb) -> farm onslaught -> forget about tank set till sov.
