For me this is the most egregious part of these changes. The balance team seems to be taking an approach similar to devs in league or dota, trying to shake up the “meta” instead of trying to find actual balance.

That works in other genres, but in a pvp mmo that’s so weighted toward geared players it’s toxic for casual players.
It's especially unfair towards new players that just wanted to play a legolas without jumping the overpowered waggon like others did. They have put hundreds of hours into their beloved character just to get destroyed by one patch. Like all of their builds at once. There are at least a few that gonna leave after this patch hits. Id prefer new players to stay, not leave...

I wish they could find decent middle grounds where the class is still useful and fun to play. Not from overpowered to useless.

There is the rub. This is a position tied to a base hostility to an entire class type. Your view no longer requires any consideration.
It's matter of understanding game mechanics.
rDPS is easy to assist, easy to synchronize burst, easy to kite, easy to bypass guard by its nature and is harder to detaunt it.
It also takes 1/10 of effort for 2 rDPS to snipe someone while blob surfing compared to doing same as mDPS (which would need to get guards, heals and mostly likely morales to even engage).

Having ability to deal damage at range is superior. Ergo, its efficiency should be inferior, but sadly it isn't.
Whole "rDPS patch" should focus on rDPS nerfs, with some OOL changes.

Lol the game is already a melee battle at 85+% in rvr. Pathetic

You have already outed yourself. You have a hostility to an entire class type. There is no reason to take your posts seriously further.

What hostility?
I play both mDPS and rDPS, the second being easy mode in lakes is just a fact. You're just biased "main" :D
