That is why I said that this being an MMO is such a major problem.

You got team balance problems in match-based games? You install a team balancer - we have a skill-factoring balancer up on our UT servers for this purpose. Those games don't balance themselves either if players are free to pick a side.

The closest analogue to forced balancing in this game? Locking players out of the RvR area to maintain population balance within. And if we did that, there would be riots.

You can't develop a system for WAR's type of RvR which will be innately invulnerable to realm imbalance issues. If the fundamental mechanic of RvR is a persistent world state which is designed to benefit the stronger realm (because you fight for area control), anything which empowers one realm is going to have an effect on that system by design.

If you treat RvR as a scenario with anytime enter/exit, no team balancing and a slightly different objective model, you can see very easily why the RvR system itself isn't the problem. If I were to instance RvR to 100v100, the complaints would stop overnight.

This is why I'm not going to put in another rework for RvR in the short term. I have zero faith whatsoever that anyone can come up with a system that addresses this issue without reintroducing merry-go-rounding, which is a solid red line for me.

You are in a discussion. It's normal to respond to the arguments made against what you have said, instead of avoid the questions and points made. Unless you are are politician, of course. Now that I think of it, you would probably make a great politician!
You said you got farmed and there is nothing you can do against the zerg. I pointed out how a coordinated 6-man can wipe a whole WB of enemies and stop a zone-lock. You said people don't always want to play that way. I said fine then don't enter the RvR lake and go do something else. I guess that's the end of that discussion.
You're being as dishonest as ever. Here's the real version:

"You said you got farmed and there is nothing you can do against the zerg. I pointed out how a coordinated 6-man can wipe a whole WB of enemies and stop a zone-lock and how you were accused of cheating because of it. You said that an accusation like that sounds reasonable, and you then asked how I could pull that off, which I just completely ignored. I then changed the subject, and said fine, then don't enter the RvR lake and go do something else. Where you then said It's not RvR when you are getting slaughtered, but I ignored that as well."
Penril wrote: Some people just want to turn the RvR lake into anoter PvE zone where they can roam freely, be the Chosen Ones, and level up without fear of death.
I love how you assume people don't want to do RvR. You think you know people. You don't. You just sound really arrogant, if anything. I love this game for the fights. But, unfortunately, I have to repeat myself once again: Getting slaughtered/farmed/zerged (call it what you want) is NOT RvR! If that was the case, then you would also have to agree that farming players is RvR, too. But I guess you're just gonna ignore this point, as well.

I personally dont like the change to get forced to fight in a zone and get forced to zerg or beiing zerged.
But if the majority is for the change, than so it should be.
What i get from those who are against the new system is that they dont want to be forced to fight.

With all due respect, if we are talking about RvR lakes, people who enter them SHOULD be forced to fight.

Why should you be forced to do anything in a game? Wtf dude. What's wrong with you? Because doing something against your will is so much fun!

Now you're just trolling.

The intention of the RvR lakes is that you fight in them, not go around capping empty objectives. You shouldn't even get anything for that, except perhaps some kind of bonus that increases the rewards for actually fighting, because you did precisely nothing to deserve it.

I bloody hate zerging as well, but I hate it just a tiny bit less than the idea of nobody fighting at all.

Why do 20 sheeps think they have to attack a keep with 40 wolves inside? Since when does the underdog starts a keep siege?

Btw, when you die over and over, then you do it wrong. Always remember, dying is no option. You should be experienced enough after 5 years WAR to kill without getting killed in return.
Dying is no option.

The current rvr system promotes teamwork between the realm and somewhat prevents the rve type player who for some reason plays for points instead of pvp'ing in a pvp focused game.
Good change.

But you are not being forced to ENTER the lake: You can stay out of the RvR lake if you want. If you freely decide to enter then you better be ready for a fight. Because that's what RvR lakes are: zones specifically designed for PvP combat.

Again, in case you still dont get it.

RvR lakes are an optional part of the game. No one will force you to enter there. If you want to explore the lake without a fight, you can go to a locked zone. But if you enter an RvR lake that is currently contested, you will certainly find enemies that will try to kill you there. You decide what to do, no one is forcing you to enter the lake. You can get to lvl 26 without ever doing PvP.
