X realming and why people do it...
Re: X realming and why people do it...
@Azuzu that is a possibility. Keep in mind that the RR requirement for the bonuses would increase along with RR caps. Currently it is 30, but in T4 it would be 70-80 (i prefer 80).

I think rr80 is a good rank to apply bonus as well at T4.Penril wrote:@Azuzu that is a possibility. Keep in mind that the RR requirement for the bonuses would increase along with RR caps. Currently it is 30, but in T4 it would be 70-80 (i prefer 80).
With the amount of time it takes the average person to get RR80 most people would hit the played time requirement before the rank requirement. The played requirement would just be there to discourage out of party healers from RR powerlvling.
You could shift the played requirement to match the increasing RR requirement.

Azuzu why do you have such long replies. You fill like 5 pages of a thread then at page 10 say something like, 'All good ideas have been lost in the shuffle.' Less quoting sir please. kkthanxbye.
Word of Pain and Boiling Blood are no longer able to proc anything. The Bright Wizard College has confirmed this is a big deal. (stealth nerf)

Re: X realming and why people do it...
For the most part things were fine until rewards were tied to RVR objectives. Sure, you have the odd night where one faction dominates but that's part of the game. Tie rewards to kills, and i think it will at least solve the Xrealming problem.
RVR is another subject, but the zone mechanic was never successful in any of it's forms, so I don't think we should expect too much from that without a total revamp of the game. (I don't think a total revamp is a good idea.)

Re: X realming and why people do it...
People can exploit every single thing. It wouldn't really help =(Azuzu wrote:Good idea, one of the best I've heard, but people would just power level characters to get their accounts to have huge bonuses. especially if it effects gold.Penril wrote:How about this: The more characters you have from the same faction at a certain level , the more bonuses you get.
Marvel Heroes has a similar system, where you get like +5% Xp account bonus for every character you have at level 60, up to a max of +200% i think. In RoR it could be something like this:
- 3 characters at max level (26 atm) on same faction: +50% Inf/renown/XP/gold for any character of that faction you have on that account.
- 6 characters at max level: +100%
- 9 characters at max level: +150%
- 12 characters at max level: +200%
These bonuses would only apply to the faction of the characters you have at that level. So if i have 6 order characters at level 26, i get a +50% bonus on everything applied to all my ORDER characters in that account, but not to destro.
Would this be incentive enough to stay on one faction? Will suck for x-realmers like me who like to fight the zerg. But if AAO is implemented it would compensate for it.
I just started playing here and I already have 3 max level character. It takes about a day to hit 26.
If you wanted to be a min/max'er about it, you would have a Destro account with 12 characters and an Order account with 12.

Re: X realming and why people do it...
greetings!
i see many ppl here that see any kind of limitation as solution for the x-realming problem.
well, i dont like it. i always prefer the carrot thats convincing me over the kick in the ass.
i believe the main reason for ppl chosing the winning faction is simply that its not fun for them to stay on ther "loser" side.
i think its an illusion to think, that when u force ppl to play only 1 faction (however u will do that) that they will fight in RvR for the underdog faction. they will just play sc, stay in the wc or log off.
imo its a better choice to attract players to take a part of the underdog.
my suggestion is:
1) to implement mechanics that help to scatter the zerg around the map. then solo player and small groups have more chances to find fair fights
2) player of the underdog faction need more rewards, atm its like the winner takes it all.
a "looser" tic after keep is taken and aao-buff might help alot to make it worthfull to fight as underdog.
