Every evening for the last 2 days I get this error. I live in Arizona U.S.

Could not connect to Login server
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (ip address:8000)
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(IPAddress[] addresses, Int32 port)
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(String host, Int32 port)
at RoRLauncher.Client.Connect()

I removed the IP address in case I wasn't supposed to post it.

During the morning and afternoon I have no problems logging in and playing. I see both the server and site are up right now and I'm getting this error. Everything was fine 2 days ago and I haven't done anything to my install.

Every now and then the server crashes so that might by your problem. If you have connection problems i would always prior to opening a post check the front page whether more people have the same problem or if there are any official posts. You can also check:

Besides that, you can not do much if you are sure that your network equipment is working properly. I don´t think that it is a provider issue or are US providers blocking certain ports at certain times ?

p.s.

No need to hide the ip from the login or game server since everybody who has the client installed can see it it their own log files. Security by obscurity usually don´t work :lol:

Thanks, I used the twitter address to check the site and still was getting that error. I'm not sure if the Main site and Twitter are accurate and I'm still not able to log in, or both sites are not accurate and no one can log in. Either way it's working tonight which I am grateful for, and thank all of you that work to bring this classic back to the masses. I played Live from beta till shutdown and I'm very grateful to be able to play it again.

It was a normal restart, we pushed a hotfix because RvR wasn't working right. We tend to hotfix whenever we need to. Normal patching on Friday nights.

At the time of the tweet the state is accurate but this is not updated every minute so you have to check from what time the last tweet is.
