I personally was hoping it would only accrue if we logged out in a city but so far it appears that it doesn't matter where you log. I agree that either a setting to turn it off or requiring players to log out in a city would be helpful.

In the original game, didn't players have to be in a city to get rested xp?

ah yes, thank you. I could be wrong, I keep forgetting to test it, but I swear it seems like I have rested xp even when i log out in the middle of the rvr lakes XD

Well...currently you get rested xp regardless of where you log.

If you do then it's a bug (or not implemented the same way as live). I remember people used to log in the middle of a RvR lake to avoid rested XP.

From my memory, which could be totally incorrect, I believe that Rested XP occurred any time you logged off.

However when logged out in the city it was increased by X%.

it was increased further by X% when logged out in the guild halls.
