[Shadow Warrior] Is it viable now as Melee class?

Regarding last class changes can it be played mainly as a melee class, not a 90% of time as a range-lol-kdown one trick pony class?

Imo it still requires some tweaks.
Currently it is sooo goood if you can catch someone without guard/heals/etc (typical pug).
But against competitive group, sorry, you are no longer a rdps (cause 3/4 tactics which you have slotted are assault oriented) and still not a mdps, because:
1) No aoe detaunt (no one with clear mind will slot tactic for it and lose tons of dmg potential)
2) AP starvation. You can't sit on the enemy like SL does and can't burst it down like WL does.
3) No engage mechanisms. You have an escape ability, that's cool, but you need to get close to an enemy.
Just my opinion since I've tested it in different situations.
For solo/gank it is good now, for good play not really.

If at any point it ever competes with true melee for a pure melee slot it has been over buffed.

exactly my opinion... and I play SW...

With a grand total of 8 melee dedicated abilities and 4/5 melee tactics there is no way that it can compete with a true melee class that has 24 melee dedicated abilities and 15+ melee dedicated tactics + melee oriented utilities... that is unless those 8 abilities are completely broken ^^'.

That is Why I don't understand the aim of this new Assault mode that want to be a "dedicated" melee rather than a "hybrid ranged-melee" that is how it should have been concivied (after all you have RANGED ABILITIES that can be used in assault stance).

So a mdps spec should not compete with "true" melee?

What?

An mdps spec that still has a bow and a plethora of ranged damage abilities. Such balance that would be.

So you cant even fathom the possibility of its ranged skills being worthless while he shines in melee?

Seriously, if your ideas of balance are as basic as "he has a bow he cant do good melee damage then, thats unfair" we have an huge problem.
