perhaps it could be simpler.
assuming the devs DO know who is online (naming wise) and who is not.
just keep track of players in a region where there is heavy activity.
when you see THE pattern, a sudden drop of realm X-players and a rise of the other players.
flag those names.
next day
THE pattern arises again.
flag those names again.
now you can start cross-referencing.
anyone who suddenly "dissappears" or "appears" on the same pattern can be flagged as x-realmers.
just a simple counter will do...
now you just watch and see if it happens again...
up next, the banhammer.
either automatically, or a GM watches the RvR....
it's not the easiest way, most fun way.
but it's simple, simple counters, queries and you have your data...
but perhaps this way you can "educate" x-realmers not to x-realm anymore.
My two cents on x-Realming.

Yea I don't see that as an option. I put it in because it was mentioned in other forums. I think it'll cost too many resources and will not work because of pproxies and vpns. Although don't quote me on the last part bc I'm not sure

I hope not. My son and I have separate accounts, and at times we play together or have done SC's against each other. But I don't know his passwords and he doesn't know mine. Plus I have toons in T4 and he doesn't, so currently we are most often operating in different tiers. We play this game because we love it, not because we want to to exploit anything.Akalukz wrote:Have to be careful banning/whatever by ISP / IPA. I have 3 accounts at my house, mine, my son's and my daughters. I play destro 100% of the time. My son plays both, my daughter plays destro (cuz she needs daddy) Should I be banned/penalized because 3 of us play at my house?

Re: My two cents on x-Realming.
A vry good reason to not xrealm for a defensive tick would be actual content after locking a zone...and the reason why xrealming for def ticks is working out for the individual is becaue the contribution system is not working.
If one or even both things are implemented, x realming becomes an activity for very few people,as people again need the guild groups to get rewards,do top tier rvr. And I dont know any guilds promoting x realming at all if not for actually joining the faction with mgood AAO to make kills, which is actually a pro argument for xrealming imo.
And before anyone jumps on it: I dont x realm.

Re: My two cents on x-Realming.
Here's my two cents..x realming was and probably will always be a problem to some extent especially if you are able to do it so quickly. Perhaps there is some way to flag an account as to what side they logged in first and institute either a lock out timer or some type of mechanic to debuff them if they switch to the opposing faction. If they are really switching to play with friends and not in it for their ego the debuff really shouldn't matter. Anyway, I'm not a programmer so I don't know just putting it out there.
I'm also in the same situation as Akalukz my husband and I both play...we watch each others back and play side by side..
who said there isn't any love in war?
