That error indicates to me the launcher can not update the file.
If I remember right the following I would check
A) check that whatever u downloaded the game with is closed. A good way would be to move the game folder to something else just to be sure.
B) check disk space
C) make sure the antivirus program has not flagged the game, add white list the game
D) check the write protection is removed

I'm having issues with re-install. When I launch the game it's like the OG live version without any RoR stuff. I can log in, but there's no text associated with anything, and the game looks like trash. kinemaster mod apk 2022 4k What am I missing? Did two re-installs and got this issue.

I've run DXSETUP.exe, white listed the folder, set everything to read-only. I'm following all the steps but I keep getting 175173 files to download. If I just let it download for the next two days, will it be playable?

It looks like you missed some crucial step. 175k files to download is not normal. Did you make sure RoRLauncher is inside the correct directory when you start it? (has to be next to WAR.exe, otherwise it will download all again)
In theory yes it will download all the files eventually and should work if rest of the things are taken care and nothing is blocking(permissions, antivirus/firewall) the game, but this can take quite a bit of time.

The problem is that the first red flag is that its trying to download everything. You may get lucky with it, but there must be something wrong or you missed something to have that. So it will be bad if you wait all this time and still have a broken game.
So i think its faster to start from scratch by going step by step with the installation guide and making sure you didnt miss the step, it should be up and running in no time.

I didn't see this in the original / mega post (its probably there and my eyes glazed over it).

I was getting the 170k files to download problem from the patcher. The "solution" was easy: run the launcher from the "Warhammer Online - Return of Reckoning" folder and NOT (my emphasis) the "ReturnOfReckoning-May2022" folder that is downloaded to start the whole process.

hi i spent 3 days waiting for the game to download since i kept telling myself it will only take a little while and when it finished i was jumping for joy but.... i log into the game and it will shutdown after about a minute...
Anything other than redo the download?
