The problem is that executing a DDoS attack is child's play. It's as simple as typing in an IP address in some software. They're not "hackers", just people willing to put in effort to piss off others for fun.

Pretty sure taking down this server is more than someone or a guild using something like LOIC. I'd at least hope so anyways.

I'm ready to send a few money, mb 50-70$, for protection of DDoS;
In our country (Russia), 1 month of really great protection of DDoS costs about 100$/month;
Maybe, we should try to collect money and try to help our server...?

thats right! so do not despair and look how far this private project has grown. i remember last year the maximum tier has been T2 and look how far the developers have pushed this. so i would say its time to lower the communities' 'pressure' on all the devs, gms and all others that are involved in this project. yes i have to admit i'm glad to get my 'daily fix' of RoR too, but i'm aware this project is no naturalness like a duck takes to water and all depends on the enthusiasm of a few guys and gals willing and able to keep this thing here runnning. so please don't lose your patience.
