Disciple of khaine critical direct heals?

If this topic already exist then my pardon, searching here is very tricky.

Well the question I had is; what counts as a direct heal? Since Dok and Wp share similar attacks it goes to both of them I guess. Both are frontline healers more or less, you do damage --> you heal people, surely doing precisely that must be a direct heal, or so I thought. There are tactics designed to synergize with them getting critical direct heals, surely it can't only apply to the 2-3 long range direct heals? Rend Soul is there from the start, hit a person, directly heal defensive target, no healing over time there no no, it happens the second you hit the bloke. But I never seemed to get the tactic activation when using hit-heal abilities, have I missed something?

Using crit heal tactics and Transfer Essence felt like they were made to dance together.

A direct heal is any heal that is:

- Not a raw heal - any effect whose power is either constant (morales, potions) or based entirely on another value (lifetaps) and that will not kick any event handlers that listen for heals is a raw heal
- Not a proc heal (Sigmar's Shield)
- Not a HoT

Therefore, Khaine's Embrace, Khaine's Invigoration and Restore Essence's direct component are examples of direct heals. Transfer Essence, Divine Favor, Devour Essence and Rend Soul are examples of abilities that are not direct heals.

Thanks for the quick answer.

I'm not familiar with some of the nicknames, but are there more direct heals than those 3 mentioned as examples?

DoK has four direct heals, Khaines invigoration, Khaines refreshment, Khaines Embrace and restore essence. Refreshment and embrace are best at causing your crit tactics (ie khaine's bounty) to proc, since they hit multiple targets at once. None of the melee life taps count as a direct heal :( Life would be so much better if they did!
I smash things on Bolimor (WP)
I heal Peoplez on Mewanna Party (RP) :o
I guard the slayer on Igurd (SM) :D
I shootz arrows on Frigi Dare (SW) :(

No, it wouldn't. If they do, they would be affected by healdebuffs.
This would mean that you can get "double heal debuffed", once per damage mitigation/block+parry chances and other modifiers (i.e. guard, morales) and once due to real heal debuffs (in- and outgoing).

I am confused. Abilities like restore essence have an imidiate effect and a HoT . Are both parts affected from heal bonus/reduction ? Also the tactics Dark Blessings and Sigmar's Favor are working on the exact same abilities? I also don't understand why HoT do not count as direct heals. To me everything that increases with willpower should be a direct heal.

Whats so hard to understand? Restore Essence initial Heal is a direct heal and the 3 ticks after are obviously a HoT that does NOT count as direct heal. Dark Blessing states it increases direct heals by 10% (tactic is btw sh*t - do not use it). Meaning your Restore Essence will heal 440 instead 400 for example, while the second part of the spell remains at 3 ticks á 50hp (just made up numbers)

Do the tactics Murderous intent and divine fury affect dirrect heal only or they affect HoT too? And how heal debuffs work? I mean does inc HD reduce the heal you get from every source like HoT, Life taps and armor procs? Sorry for asking so many questions but I try to understand how this works

Those tactics affect direct heals and direct hots.

Obviously life taps do not get reduced, because those are tied to the damage output (and as a result increase in life tap health strength as a result of using these tactics).

Like abo said, but to put it into a simple list:

Direct heal: Everything that is not a Heal over Time or Lifetap.
Outgoing Healdebuff: affects Hot+Direct Heals from the one who casts them. Lifetap unaffected.
Incoming Healdebuff: affects Hot+Direct Heals from the one who receives them. Lifetap unaffected.
Reduced/Increased Healing in any Form (from tactics like Dark-Blessing, Divine Fury or whatever states "Healing" alone and just the word "Healing") practically means an incoming or outgoing heal(de)buff on yourself. So Divine Fury is pretty much considerable as an outgoing healdebuff of 20%, since your Lifetap healing is untouched by it. This value stacks together with Murderous Intent to a permanent 40% outgoing healdebuff on yourself. Exalted Defense tactic from the WP for example would be a 20% outgoing Healbuff on the other hand.

All cleared up now?
