Norton AV is blocking and quarantining the new executable:
Category: Resolved Security Risks

4/29/2020 2:03:12 PM,High,WAR-64.exe (SONAR.ProcHijack!g45) detected by SONAR,Quarantined,Resolved
Is there a fix for this *other* than telling my antivirus software to buzz off?
Thanks!

Re: Norton Antivirus and New War64.exe
Had the same, problem is Norton detects WAR-64.exe as a threat, however to bypass this go into Norton settings then Programme Control, search for WAR-64.exe and change the setting from "auto" to "allow", this should then let you to launch and play the game.
Hope this helps!

Re: Norton Antivirus and New War64.exe
Thanks -- it helps but I am concerned. Why all of a sudden is Norton detecting it as a threat? What did they chance, what is it doing? It never happened before. I'm hesitant to tell Norton to allow it to run when I don't know what information it's trying to access to cause the error in the first place.

Re: Norton Antivirus and New War64.exe
Hi, Anyone else having this issue on windows 10 ? Could not download file from server (WAR.exe) when running the Return of Reckoning Launcher. I tried downloading above users file and replacing war64.exe. I also tried turning off every single security setting in windows 10, adding program virus exceptions for war.exe and return of reckoning launcher, and also disable firewall / added exceptions for war.exe / Return of reckoning launcher. Still I can not get the launcher to download (WAR.exe) from server
