Grimshimer/warlord chest, sov shoulders,, 2 regen rings, soupstone regen, fullparry+regen rr, phantom enchant, regen enchant tactic, draugnirs end. Other regulate as u wish. U will outlive everything and eat trough nosustaine people with spirit dmg. if not find IB or kotbs for 69 crossguard and enjoy eternal damnation, but u still be worce than meta soloroam crap. True samurai play fullcrit focused offence.

Honestly, it depends on what you want. Tanking the shxx out of everyone? Go regen with Grimshimmer and regen jews, Vaul's Buffer, and high toughness. It is effective, but you will get bored with it very quickly(and get a lot of hate).

Or if you want an all-rounder, then just standard 13-0-9 is enough with around 500-700 toughness or so, you don't really need regen if you are good at roaming, know which target to pick, which situation to get away from, otherwise stick to regen for a while and learn to roam with SM first, it's kinda different from other classes when roaming since SM(if not regen) is quite weaker than meta class that good at roaming.

When you get better at it, you can even solo with a glass canon build like Bloodlord + full crit Focused offense with only 2xx tough and still manage to win (as long as you pick your fight wisely, but rip against WE since they choose you), and yes, it can work, I did this build all the time, not effective yes but very fun.

Build depends on who you're fighting, but I say 13-0-9 is enough for every situation, unless you want full def then drop KD and pick Vaul Buffer, but it is not required for good gameplay.

stat? - idk, it really varies, I know a solo SM who said to always run with 800 tough or else it's impossible, but I myself play with only 200 - 400 tough and still manage just fine. I also know a guy who runs like 300 tough but 500+ ini with insane parry, he is good at fighting melee but weak against everything else. SM is quite varied, so I think it's better to try it for yourself, keep experimenting and you will find the build that's just right for you.

a bit of a tip: trying to keep up Wrath of Hoeth(Spirit debuff) against a high parry class is suck, it got parry all the time. Instead of wasting 1 rotation, you can change to Heaven's Blade to save improved balance for something like Eagle Flight/Snare/Crit buff. When I change enchantment while fighting them It got so much better, but yeah we also lose stat buff from Nature's Blade, can't be good at everything, I guess. :(

honestly i do not know what is meta for solo. in live it was great to solo with SM. but it has been too long and i don't remember much. I'm old and will opt for the easy and effective build that gives hate but i have no clue about tactis and skill and renown points. if anyone can please help elaborate on this build:"Go regen with Grimshimmer and regen jews, Vaul's Buffer, and high toughness. It is effective, but you will get bored with it very quickly(and get a lot of hate)". what to pick and all, gems etc, sword enchants, skill whatever...
Also thanks a lot to you all for the answers.

Haven't revisit the post, sorry if I reply a bit late. I am also on my phone so I can't properly do the link. SM is quite varied, so it's hard to get a straight answer from different players, unless they only play one build and never change.

For Basics: Mainly in renown, you need around 2-3 Futile Strike to get a chance to be crit as low as possible(you can point your cursor at Initiative to see the chance to be crit), then full parry(Reflexes). The rest is subjective, if you play with crit, then you might need 1-3 Opportunist, but you can drop it when you get better gear(flat 15-20% is good enough since you will get buff from both tactic and skill in the left tree). But if you want regen(easy build) go for Regeneration renown, but It is not advised. It's better to put points in toughness(get around 700-800 toughness) then do regeneration with gears instead(we will go to that later).

For Mastery,(Sorry, I can't make link) for Standard, you mainly need:
Left Tree: Great Weapon Mastery(Tactic), Ether Dance, Sapping Strike(not need but good dot even if you don't play crit)
Right Tree: Crushing Wave(KD), Protection of Hoeth(Absorb)
The rest is up to you

For Regen Deftard build you may be looking for (I think this required rr70+)
Left Tree: Same as above but drop Sapping Strike
Middle Three: Vaul Buffer(Tactic)
Right Tree: only Protection of Hoeth
Another 2points is up to you.

Tactic in most situations:
Standard: Rugged + Great Weapon Mastery + Balance Accuracy + Discerning Offense // You can drop Balance Accuracy if you don't play with crit and use Potent Enchantment, Switch Discerning Offense to something else if you fight range class.

Regen Deftard: mainly just Vaul Buffer + Great Weapon Mastery, the rest is up to the situation. You can try using Heal/Regen Tactic(I forgot the name), but there is no need to go that extreme unless you really hate to die.

For Gears:
Standard: Just combine 2-3 gear sets to get the stat you like. Honestly, it wasn't anything complex. Play def/regen? Just pick a gear and set bonus with regen/parry and high toughness. Play Glass Cannon? Just pick gears with good STR and Crit chance.

Regen Deftard: The most important thing you will need is Fleshrender jew(The one with +40 regeneration stat, I forgot the name). This item drops from the lair boss in Kadrin Valley(If they haven't changed it during PvE patch, yeah, I didn't read.) You can find information in Wiki, just type 'Fleshrender Boss RoR', but it gonna be such a tedious task to farm it. You can bypass this farm by just buying it from the Auction House.

The other thing you might need is Grimshimmer chestgear, which drops from the lair boss too. You can find information on Wiki or buy it on the Auction House. Otherwise, use Warlord Chestgear as a substitute (I like Warlord more).

For other things, pick up Warlord boots with +40 regen, Sovereign Shoulder with +64 regen, and use the sword from CnT dungeon reward, Draughnir's End, it's the best defensive weapon overall, or you can use the sword from Lost Vale dungeon, but I haven't tried that yet.

I can't say for SnB solo build since I kinda suck with it, but there are a good one running around often. If you find him, you can ask him for advice in-game.

Playing a regen build gave you quite an advantage for SM, since SM plays with Stance. In most cases, against good players, when you mess up one rotation, it almost guarantees your death, but with regen tankiness, it often gives you a second/third chance, so it's great to be used as a beginner's learning tool. But I don't advise you to play with it too long tho, it kinda gives you a bad habit, been there before.

Grimshimmer is s….

969 Armor (8,3 less damage or so if debuffs)
+ 10 Strength
+ 24 Toughness (-5 damage per hit so typically 10 or so per s)
+ 24 Wounds
+ 10 Initiative (less crit more parry)
+ 17 Weapon Skill
+ 80 Hit Points every 4s

Vs
600 Armor
+ 18 Wounds
+ 184 Hit Points every 4s (26 more regen)

Even wo lost set bonus it is s… and a waste of effort
