Fallenkezef wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 9:35 pm So we basicly have 5 pages based on a whining post about a better team beating a poorer team.

I'm starting to get annoyed to be honest. These kind of threads dilute and derail the GENUINE issues confronting casual players and player retention.

This game has ALLOT of problems. Gear cap between low/starting 40's and Sov. Premades dominating pugs in RVR, lack of real endgame incentives etc.

The video in the OP highlights NONE of these problems. SC's are in a generaly good place right now with duos being taken out of discordant. Gear capping discordant could be the only real thing needed to make a pug/casual friendly enviroment exist for this game.

The video only highlights THREE things and only one of them is legitimate grounds for complaint.

1) The value of organisation and team play in an SC.

2) Bad sportmanship and sore losing by running to the forums.

3) (the only genuine thing raised in my opinion) too many SC's allow for spawn camping and create a situation where a losing team finds it too hard to break out and even things up.
you are a good you. Maybe you should read more before getting upset. as said above several times, the subject is the user experience, the relentlessness in Spawn and consequently, the retention of players. and yes the interest of being torn or to tear an adversary team is almost nil for the majority of the players. go ahead, set up a pug 2-2-2 group "opti" I would like to see after how complete you will be and launch your SC. now that you have set up your group, fall against a premade full stuff rr 80 who only comes to farm the compo or simply flatter his ego and we will see if you will win something. welcoming new players is a blessing, limiting non-play is a necessity for them to stay.

I was in the premade in that scen. We went 10-0 to complete the event. Just so you know it wasn't a lot of fun either as we kept getting pugs and no actual fights. Earlier in the day I lost 7 in a row as a solo choppa to either 1 or 2 order premades per scen.

Some of its down to who is in the queue and some I think to the actual queue mechanism which seems to put premades vs pugs.

Simple improvements:

Only do 1 premade vs 1 premade if they are in the queue - dont stack 2v1 as its an insta loss (do do 2v2 or 1v0 or 0v0)
Hold the queue for a bit longer for 6 mans to try to group them more.
Dont prioritise 6 mans in the queue - make some pops pug v pug for the weekend event

Who would have thought that SCs that allow ranged dps to reign and favour CC would not be joined by order premades? *smh*

I will not read all 7 pages of posts, but you have 2 options:

1. Give up
or
2. Play smarter (and better):

- Do the work and and form a group of 2-2-2.
- Make sure people in your group have proper builds (armor & heal debuf, guard,...), all talismans slotted and are using both potions (armor + liniment), 2 type of heal pots, AP potion and absorb potion
- Use any voice com (discord) and assist each other, talk to each other
- If you fight against too strong opponents, make just few minutes pause between queues

These above, can do a wonders.

I did 5 solo, at different times over the weekend. I lost in all of them with roughly 15 kills across all 5 scenarios. Only one scenario didn't turn into a spawn camp after the first encounter, and that one took two encounters. Judging by the guild tags, 3 were all-pug vs 1-premade, 1 was indeterminate, and 1 was pug vs pug.

It's odd to me that duo queue was removed from discordant, but we're still allowed to go into the weekend event with pug vs premade. Some people did abuse the discordant queue. The same could be said for the weekend event. It's just that this abuse is still allowed. No one can convince me that a 6-man going against pugs isn't abusive.

I agree that they really should match 6-mans vs other 6-mans as much as possible. Sprinkle in pugs to fill the second group or make it 2 6-mans vs 2 6-mans, or make a discordant weekend event.

Alternative take: stop going into the very sweaty weekend event with no coordination and the wrong spec expecting to make progress towards some of the best rewards in the game (event slot items, war crests, renown boost, top-tier crafting items).

This is supposed to be a realm war where you are not only fighting for your own progression but fighting to stop the enemy from progressing.

It is no abuse, when you willingly queue for group focused content, which gives nice rewards. Weekend events are not designed for solo players, even if solo players are free to join. It is expected that those need more time to finish it opposed to players forming groups.

When it comes to wanting to separate pugs vs premades, I am as supportive as it gets. I find the who premade concept to be real toxic, given how those premades immediately dissolve the moment they face another premade that beats them. They only exists as long as they can farm pugs.

Even then, I think it is important to have game modes intended for organized setups, and those game modes being much more rewarding than any pug content. Weekend SCs are exactly that. And I still think it is a nice thing to let pugs to be able to participate, as long as they know what they are signing up for.

If you want to improve the organization for pugs, do what League of Legends did for their pug queue. You used to queue for a match (just like our pug queue), but then you would end up with teams with no support or jungler. Then they changed it so that people signup for roles they are willing to take before queueing. Not one role, but 2 possible roles. And it would put together a balanced team based on that.

I know this cant be applied to RoR due to 2 main differences;
1. Destro/Order separation means it tries to make teams out of 2 separate pools.
2. Classes already being locked into a single role

Hear me out; I know this is insanely hard additional work for Devs; but what if (just WHAT IF), I could queue for MY ACCOUNT roster. Destro OR Order toons, where I am happy join in with ANY character I **ticked** for available.

A girl can dream I guess.

Remove premades from the game. Only then will this server flourish.
