and you think, if anyone, give that the code for free or waht are you thinking, the game is dead, and this devs here, do a very good job, and you see on the top, this is a alpha server, this menas, bugs are normal, if you play a game, go away and play f2p games or wow or other games

I never said or implied/meant to imply that the devs aren't doing a good job. As I wrote before, I'm simply curious about the technicalities because I've recently started a computer engineering degree and obviously I'm interested in this subject. That + combined with WAR being one of my favourite games makes me doubly interested in the software engineering side of things.

But yes, the server is made ground up from sniffed packetdata, which also means not all packets are implemented as we may not know how all packets worked. With client control we can change any packet as we please and as such take away any guessing
Thanks for the info, I think I'm starting to understand the general concept. :ugeek: May I ask what is involved in implementing client control?

Well, the cease and desist on WoW's largest private server Nostalrius culminated in Blizzard announcing official Classic WoW servers. So if RoR ever gets big enough to attract EA's/Games Workshop's attention, then we could possibly see an official WAR server. ;) And the RoR devs would be heroes to the WAR community.

I overlooked that EA had to pay tens of millions to create that code, lol! But is that code worth anything anymore considering WAR is dead, abandoned by it's creators/owners?

It's quite complex issue, so I suggest that you try to think through all stuff that could be involved in such handover and rule it out yourself :).

We're talking about EA and GW, not Blizzard. The main difference being that both EA and GW don't give a crap about their customers but care only for their money while Blizzard showed multiple times they also care about their playerbase.

I mean, GW still tries to trademark bully others for using the term Space Marine... In addition of receiving criminal complaints literally all the time. And there's no need to explain that EA is a cancer to the gaming industry.
They done stole my character's names. Can't have **** in RoR.
