Yes, I think the journey in RVR is important too. However, I think there is a serious issue with "no fun" and "burnout" that's tied to your progression to end-game gear + Waithammer. I think if you make simple tweaks to those few things, RVR as a whole will get better (more people will anticipate the goal so they'll enjoy the journey more, plus less boring downtime means more active fighting. Fairer "goals" (bags) mean the potential for more active fighting, which brings more fun. That's my hope anyway.

Rida wrote: soo where do i start?
Let's look at three statements:
1. "The server is development first, player experience second."
2. "You are testers first, players second."
3. "Your viewpoint on the game and that of the staff may differ, and you must accept that"
The main goal of this project is development first, to fulfill it, so to speak you need testers aka the players. Which means we play to find things that don't work, we put them on bugtracker meanwhile having fun. Also I believe that healthy community and large playerbase is hidden in this statement (no players=no game).

With current playerbase which is (primetime around 500/1400) this is going to be hard. The biggest mistake with public project is written in 3rd statement. We've had far less and are able to subject you to testing just fine.

As a leaders of a project you must listen to your testers to keep them interested at testing the product. The compromise is very important for the satisfaction of both sides. What has been going on for some time now is the very opposite of compromise. Then you are mistaken on your role here. We develop, you test and provide feedback, we adjust if the feedback warrants adjustment. This is not a product. You don't pay for it. We don't serve you.

Testers talked about more open zones, easier access to conq gear(which tbh as a hardcore player for me was a pain in the arse to obtain, I had 1300 medalions before I got first goldbags with belt and boots, it took around 25 renown ranks) not to get free stuff but to not stay behind(gear gap is huge and if you dont see it is sad).
Talking about it doesn't mean anything. Talk all you want. You're not entitled to changes because you talked about it, we are free to ignore them. Moreso if they've been talked about to death in dozens of threads prior.

The blobing with one zone is real problem. It has been pointed out many times. Same with conq costs that recently has been pointed out by Simtex, the guy who doesn't need conq but he sees whats going on with population. The response he got:
Torquemadra wrote: How about zero?
Simtex has been warned in the past about his attitude toward staff. Why expect a respectful response? We're not idiots, or saints. We bleed, we get offended, and some of us remember those who regularly stab at the staff here. You can expect the opposite of fair and neutral treatment, we're going to respond to you as someone who has blatantly disrespected us. I know this is far from standard response for most games you might play, but they want your money. We don't. To be quite frank, if you can't show basic respect for staff, then we don't even want you to play here.

Is this really respectful response? The huge problem is with taking criticism, another great example is dalgrimar that got banned for one week for no reason for me. Simtex banned aswell. Some posts were deleted aswell which were'nt offensive(and the poster ofc banned):

I recommend reading the article from the guardian:
https://www.theguardian.com/culture-pro ... icism-arts
As a leaders of the project you should expect criticism. Why? To make things better to improve something and attract new players.
We have never had an issue attracting NEW players. But it certainly seems the longer some people hang around here, the more disappointed they become, as if that big red ALPHA tag above the home page has faded away in their mind.
We have limited developers, and only our free time to work with. If you don't like how things are progressing, then by all means, go away, come back in 6 months, and see what changed.

Where is it leading? To ban people that dare to speak the truth. This ship is sinking very fast. Many people/guild has already left, Teinhala banned(dumbest permaban ive ever seen) -> Don't Panic is gone, DnD left(they did a really nice job with finding bug abilities), LoB is gone. Not only do we not ban people for "speaking the truth", we generally allow you to blather on about whatever injustice you're currently enduring to no end. It's when you get righteous, demanding, petulant, and outright insulting to the staff here that we get a wee bit irritated. Calling out bans under no context is weak. Misrepresenting them through your own flawed perception is borderline to what we will take action on.

I think its time for you to start negotiation.
Negotiation begins now.

If you don't like it, feel free to leave.

Negotiation ended.

Free market will fix it.

If the tyranny here is so bad, then there is nothing stopping anyone from grabbing the original emu code and starting their own server like the Russians are.

Thing is right now it's not as bad as people say, I know damn well no one is going to move to a server that doesn't even have t1 working even if the devs there treat us like princes. Hence why there isn't one. And I don't think there is any illusion that people would stick around here if there was a retail like experience out there.

In the future this server will possibly have competition which is of course a double edged sword, it will drive the player experience and content up, but then you get ddos attacks and private server drama etc.....

But I've been here for like 2 years now and it still amazed how autistic people can get about perceived tyranny on a private server. Just stop being spastic and play the game, yelling at the staff on the forums has and never will accomplish anything. I don't like how they run things and wish they would be nicer. But I log in almost everyday and I'm not harassed or inconvienced in anyway by the staff. Look at the people shitalking the staff, they are still here not perma banned, their posts aren't scrubbed. Calling it tyranny is a complete overstatement and I can see why people would get fed up fast.

Awe cmon. There have been in the nearing 150 posts like.... 3-4 that could be considered toxic. Sure they warranted a reply, but just ignore it like Grim said and keep it rolling. Like I stated in the beginning it is subjective. I asked for people to be respectful but anytime opinions are involved there is going to be some blehhhhhhh.

Hopefully we can push on!!!!! My goal was to get all the ideas in one place, makes it easier for everyone to read. And in doing so they kinda take in everything that everyone else is saying, and then maybe their original post/idea will have changed a bit, and the mental spitballing continues!!!!!! We have a ton of smart freaking people on here. It is really fun when their ideas/heads work together.

Another thing to add which is related would be Dominator grind. Some classes want Dominator and not Conqueror, so they stick esclusively to SCs which in turn means they very rarely do RvR. Hell, what I have been doing pretty much every day since I returned to the game is logging in, queuing for SCs for a few hours, then log out. Running 3 Dominator atm (hands, gloves, belt). Never do RvR, unless it is premade night (once a week, twice if lucky) and guildies insist on doing RvR (I usually insist on SCs).

If we want more people (all people?) doing RvR (i do), then maybe we should also look at a faster/easier way to get Dominator gear (just like some people here have given some nice suggestions for Conqueror).

100% agree. This is why a "conversion" vendor is ideal IMO. Maybe not at a SUPER attractive rate... but a rate none the less.

I was thinking

10 Emblems = 1 Medallion.

And possibly

1 Medallion = 1 Emblem.

This way you are not "farming" AS efficiently... but its still something.... Get 500 SC Emblems and you can trade them for 50 Medallions... Get 50 Medallions and you can trade them directly for 50 Emblems.

Again not the "greatest" use of those things, but it does allow someone who just doesnt care about either/or set to still have SOME value in playing that type of game...

I also would LOVE (if possible) to actually see TWO of each set. Just gives some options even if its not considered "as useful" but just to shotgun the IDEA out there.

Separate out the STATS and the BONUSES.

Purchased via SC Emblems:
Set 1) Dominator STATs + Dominator BONUSES
Set 2) Conq STATS + Dominator Bonuses

Purchased VIA RVR Medallions:
Set 1) Dominator STATS + Conq Bonuses
Set 2) Conq STATS + Conq Bonuses.

Now, I probably would make some SMALL adjustments to these, but you get the idea... You could EVEN go as far as allowing BOTH to count towards the "set bonuses" (again I dont know limitations on this... but I do know we were able to do this with beastlord so thats an example).

But it allows you multiple options, more choices for more gear sets AND with the "conversion" vendor in place, now MULTIPLE paths to getting what gear you want. If someone wants (like you Penril) ONLY the SC set... RVR isnt wasted as each Medallion gained you can convert to SC Emblems.... Or if someone only wants Conq, they can take SC Emblems and convert them to Medallions....

I think 10:1 and 1:1 as proposed above is harsh enough to make it not the MOST attractive.... but still enough to warrant consideration.

1. - End the duplicate piece Crisis by adding choices (as Norkilla and many others have suggested)

2. - P.Q. rewards increased or changed to something more enticing than “this might make a decent appearance piece” and some aren’t even rare appearances.
Spoiler:
- I might be way off on this, but when T1 and Mid tier isn’t populated, I could see people trying to get a group of at least 2-3 to do some Public questing, i’m not sure increasing / changing rewards would make people do it in T4 however, since people already have good gear and appearances.
3. - Better and/or more intriguing quest lines and/or rewards
Spoiler:
- It’s obvious why the only quests people want to do are the 3 Epic quests because the rewards are (1) some of the best
weapons in game in terms of stats (2) some of the coolest appearances for weapons in game. If the epic quests didn’t give
those rewards or lesser ones, I can imagine almost no one would hear of them or do them. (Skaven cape and ring quests
are also fun and rewarding)
- Hell even the plungernade quest was a good hour of fun and adventure, more stuff like that is along the right track i think
for people who don’t need gear necessarily (in T4).
4. - Must be in a group of at least 2 to queue for ANY scenarios.
Spoiler:
- Solo que results in constant one-sided fights that are: camp or be-camped the majority of the time. (sometimes good
fights happen but it’s far and few between)
- This will encourage people to group, while not requiring that group to 6-man or anything above 2, coordinating with at
least one player is not that hard and can open up the potential damage that can be done when two players coordinate in
smaller scale (scenario) fights.
5. - Keep up-to-date with ability changes to the server with Patch notes.
Spoiler:
- Since the updating the tooltips on abilities doesn’t work quite yet, it’s nice to know of the changes instead of figuring
them out on my own. For example, just recently Mork’s buffer got a 10sec CD and nowhere is it mentioned (this specific
change isn't a big deal, but still..)
6. - Dev Diaries are low-key super cool and fun to read (keep em comin!)

7. RvR: (maybe i'm way off on these suggestions - RvR is one complex beast)
Spoiler:
- No Lockout timers for RvR Battle-Field-Objectives, lower max assault/burn timer to be 5min, and increase the difficulty of Mobs thereof, so one or two people can't Burn a BFO.
- Perhaps consider sending a message to enemy realm (similar to keep door being attacked) when a BFO PvE Mob is killed or striked, this encourages Enemy realm to move to that BFO before its even burning, encouraging fights, giving more time for enemy to group up, show-up, and to defend the BFO
- No going in through postern doors one outer is down and no going through the back inner postern once inner is down. This should result in more funnel keep defenses, strategy of dumping oil, and better keep sieges. (but maybe the community doesn't like AoE spam tunnel funnel cakes, so maybe this is a bad suggestion)
- Loot Roll + 5 conq medallions for a successful Keep Attack/take, increased RR/exp/inf gain buff for the Realm defending the keep (must be in close proximity to the keep being defended)

Side Note: Been playing this server for a little over a year now, right when T4 came about. Wow! It’s been a fun ride thus far, and I look forward to continue making memories in this game and with the RoR/Warhammer community. Cheers to Simtex and Rida for speaking their mind, I think it’s important for the community to witness frustration from both the Community and the Dev side, I think we all just love the game so much and want to see it Flourish <3
