Not everyone is homeless and unemployed students, personally me have work, family and other stuff to take care of. But hey, at least you have conq gear, i mean, who needs wife or children or work, when you can haz a CONQ gear!!!
The way i see it i ca return when all the gear grind has died down, there's a staggered system in place and i basically only have to grind once. I really like war so ill be back for sure just not for a while.

This!

And the devs drastically reduce the cost for the competitive gear (Merc, Anni) and you can get beastlord fairly easy.

Maybe some proccs of the new gear/weapons are too strong, but the new gear in general isn´t a great improvement over the next weaker gear.

The one thing that drew me to the original game was the gear-gap, being the underdog gearwise yet overpowering others through sheer skill or tactic. Wile this wasn't the case in RoR when I first started playing, I can see a glimse of it with new "powerful" items being added.

People don't leave because they can't get conq gear fast (lol getting conq gear in one week... not unless you're a very competitive 6man, imo.. even then you deal with duplicates from bags); they leave because there is no system in place for them to see their progression. The only progression system is conq meds, and those do not drop for the casual player in a way that they feel rewarded enough to keep playing. (On top of that, there are RVR mechanics that are not fun and make you compete against your own realm -- which has caused people that I know to leave -- but that have been discussed in other threads so no need to discuss here.) The casual player will see -- wow, I got literally 10 conq medallions for four hours of playing (sometimes not even that high). Then they feel like they did a lot in the zone (or maybe the system recognizes that they did and they're in the top 6 for contribution), then they roll a 15 and get a white bag for the vendor. So, four hours for 10 conq medallions and a white bag. Result? The casual player logs off frustrated, and with continued disappointment will log on less frequently. I have absolutely no problem that more skilled players are running around in full conq, nor that it will take a long time to get to that point; my frustration exists because there is no real, attainable, observable progression system in place for me to reach that echelon (besides conq medallions, which drop infrequently), and a portion of the NA population feels the same. This impacts the amount of players in a zone and ultimately impacts my gaming experience as well -- a vicious cycle.

I can only say why i have stopped playing and a big part is the gear grind.

Took me 3-4 weeks of hard playing to get my shaman in full conq and i really dont feel to grind on any of my other chars.
Rng also played a part, 4 gold bags and 4 purple bags in those 3-4 weeks and getting 4 gloves and 4 cloaks left a bad taste in my mouth, still need the purple bag staff on my shaman but i have basically given up trying now.

Being able to convert medals up to conq medals and being able to buy purple bag weapons with medals would give me a reason to play again but as i understand that aint gona happening.

The gear grind is real lets not fool ourselves. Of course, someone that plays 1 hour a day shouldn't be able to get bis gear in a week. But someone that plays 6 hours in a zone on primetime for over a month (i.e. me)? And Hao, getting conq in one week? What?? xD You would have to play 24/7 every day literally, in a very good group or as solo dps that steals kills (it's how the game is designed). I'm currently on 4p conq (won 3 gold bags last week by playing in a group ONLY, not in a wb, and got only one piece I needed, that was like the game laughing in my face and slaping me, I can't even imagine how Morf must feel then). I stopped playing for the gear a long time ago. And now I mostly only log in on our warband days or events to have some fun with great people, trying to not get frustrated by other things, which there is no point in mentioning.

I stopped to play because there is only T4 on this server, only "grinders" and farmers on the RvE (only gears and rewards).
Old characters are Over Powered and new players are not welcome here.
Epic is dead in the farm.
And I was here from the begining, I have help to sniff the live server; I remember the message in advice chat some weeks before the official server shut down, to ask players fan base to help sniffing the game... Just sad to see how a promise can change.

It's why you don't roll alts.

I got one piece then stopped trying. BL is good enough for me. I don't know how some of those fully geared players can play for 7+ hours straight. Most I can do is an hour and a half before I get bored of the blob.
It's just a game. Hitting rr80 or getting a full set is nothing to brag about. Outside the small community, that mean nothing. Just enjoy it for what it is, and don't take it so seriously.

Being able to exchange emblems for medallions and vice versa would be great. Mainly for us filthy casuals who cant play 7+ hours a day or are playing during NA times (which lets be honest.. ORvR is very very slow). I mostly play SC's because of the timezone im in and playing SC's as a tank can be quite frustrating when you finally get all the emblems you need and the gear is only for dps specs.

If the devs do end up adding this to the game (Which would be beyond great) it doesnt have to be a 1:1 Hell i'd be happy if it was 10:1 -> Just my opinion.
