SW isn't wanted in WB because its viability relies on the the synergy with SM. Ideally you want to have SW and SM on discord to coordinate WW, but if you pick both from /5 this will never happen. Any decent player would put WW in his Buffhead tracklist, but when you pick ppl from /5 you don't know who you are taking and thus you can't trust him that he knows what to do or how to do it.

You relly on SM, only if you decide to be morale drain and armor debuff bot.
To deal damage SM isn't needed, I'd rather have IB guarding me anytime as SW.

This is your friendly reminder that top damage on a scoreboard is a red herring and means absolutely nothing. Spamming AoE that deals insignificant damage to a bunch of players and is instantly healed a split second afterward gets nothing done. Only focused burst on important targets (aka healers) matters, and SW has terrible burst when compared to other DPS classes. Ranged can't timestamp like BW can, and melee will always be outshined by Slayer and White Lion, yes even with VoN active.

There is a very, very good reason that you don't warbands asking for SWs.

Any amount of AOE is important, you need to break a certain amount of AOE pressure threshold to be able to get things done, thats why skills like Whirling axe, wrecking ball, retribution, bring it on, bad gas, big bouncing etc. is important, SW in comparison just lack that channelled AOE, also its aoe spec is in light armour. Just lack viability as a whole and can group clensed away. OP just picked a wrong class thats it :)

split arrows with spiral fletched/lileaths and barrage can do some nice burst damage and barrage spam with WW from an SM for the morale drain can be a fight winner for sure but yes it relies on WW, SM is the worst defensive tank according to another active thread atm with a clunky cd redux. Then you look at the mirror Borc, easy to use cd redux, 100% channel block and synergy with melee classes and is currently destro's best defensive tank, according to that other active thread atm. this is my pov for class balance, not just what a class can do but how it interacts with other classes, hence why i thought the game was 24v24 yet you cant take 75% of order classes in that 24 because there is no synergy.

Order complains they loose city, I haven't even made it into a city on Destro side in a week. At least you can play the endgame content. You do have the tools on that side but everyone wants to play range .

So the same ppl play both sides, on one side they play tanks/melees/healers and on the other side they only play rdps ?

Tbh, you want enemy healers to cleanse your dots (and they have too, otherwise they can't cleanse shatter limbs burried down bellow them). Thats because if you apply your dots to 3 enemy groups at once (assuming ST group is split away from main pack), then you trade your GCD for GCD of at least 3 healers (one per party). On top of that, if your dots remain uncleansed they can cascade into burst combined with your other abilities as FA+BHA+Ambush+LA+B can cause massive AoE hitting all at once.

Being light armored isn't really huge issue, as you got twice the mdps AoE range (65 ft vs 25-30 ft) and can dance into Assault anytime doubling your armor, while still being able to AoE poke in it with SFA as you're kiting, but usualy Whirling Pin or Shadowstep (which is core now) on someone far away is enough to make potential attackers look for someone else to bully.

rSW also brings extra tools like: AoE morale drain, spammable ranged healing debuff without CD, rKD and ability to switch between doing AoE and assisting ST group due to range advantage (even if your ST damage as sSW isn't great, it still adds up with damage your ST group does, especially that heal debuff is golden).

From my personal experience, most SWs either bring bad builds and deal not enough damage or struggle with positioning and remain stationary instead of being constantly on move (similar issue with Engineers, but when you look at skilled Engineer doing twice damage as top slayers its kinda :shock: ). Majority of them is also failing to utilise their toolkit. So, in the end I'm not surprised people don't want to risk random SW in their group as class has quite high skill requirement to perform.
