The agreement for being in this person's warband was that you must also be in Discord. If you can't meet this criteria, I wouldn't be surprised if you were removed.
If the leader says something to you that seems a bit aggressive or hostile, I wouldn't recommend jumping to conclusions and assuming that the person is toxic. In life, people have a lot of different personalities. Perhaps what he/she was trying to convey to you was simply a neutral and pragmatic statement. Perhaps it was hostile or aggressive. The trick is that.. it really doesn't matter.
At the end of the day, humans are emotional creatures and the only thing that actually can be "toxic" is your perception of a social interaction so if you can, try to perceive the interaction in a way that won't be detrimental to your mental health. The person at the other monitor is also human and probably experiencing frustration, so try putting yourself in their shoes and understanding, it will help you as much as it helps everyone else.
If your experience with one person isn't good, that's okay, there are plenty of other people who lead warbands and maybe one of them is better suited to how you socialize so just keep meeting people. If not, try leading yourself and creating the atmosphere that you want.

what do you think ?
Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
I haven't used it myself but don't hold any grudges over people who insist on it.
I can understand that a warband leader might get upset if people don't snap to and follow their orders but I would advise not to try to deliberately punish players where it may hurt the actual war effort or a players contribution. If you're all about mobility and people sticking with you by all means, kick when it matters upfront or make it private but don't try to deliberately mess with people. It can come across and spiteful or even some attempt at xrealm subterfuge.
You might make the argument that "well it was my warband that made all the effort to make this happen, why wouldn't I mess this person up right before a keep take" for instance, but there's often a lot of potential counters to this line of thinking rather than a person just willfully mooching off your exclusively mission critical effort and therefore why not engage in certain behavious etc. This is of course, just my opinion about it, today

Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
The reality is the zones are won and lost by the people in effective groups. Organising 2-2-2 groups following each other on discord makes so much difference compared to a random open warband. However both are needed, the first to keep people who have been playing a lot interested and the second to give the new/casual players something to do.
I dont really join pug warbands as I dont enjoy it. Likewise you are free not to join warbands that ask for discord if you dont enjoy it.

Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
not sure you play warhammer before this server , but where you missing the point you take a open public warbans feature , where player are able too join freely and forcing rule on the player threatening them too kick out ,
you also have private warbans option for organise player , you are also allow to start your private warbans , but why you dont make it is because you lack of player , so you make a public open warbans and after turn it in private warbans , this is the part is not right forcing rule on players this the part is not right in my opinion ,
Open warbans mean free , Private warbans mean organise ,
maybe only too have a bit more of courtesy will bring back more player and have the server full sadly sometime you have issue to make 1 warbans
, sad you dont have the option too play more freely in a plublic open warnbans and just following the warbans . now player impose rules on you and threatening you too kick you out
sad because i really like this game
have a good day

Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
• and of course, discord in english only.
Because all players in this game can understand english (in vocal).
• And of course pug wb is very efficient with vocal ....
• Like all the wb 50% empty cause players not 40, or too many dps, or too many heals !
All gonna open there own wb, nice : 7-8 wb with 10 peeps inside
Go go Waterloo inc !

Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
This is your misconception.
Open warbands doesn't mean doing what you like. You have to follow leaders order to work as a unit. When he can't communicate with you, how do you follow?
Not every leader uses voicecom, join them or make your own wb.
Dying is no option.

Re: forcing player to join discord or get kick out of warbans
Spoiler:
You can still join public warbands that have no discord requirement. If not you can always start your own. Don't worry about leading.

Marc Jacobs has nothing to do with RoR.
When you create a warband you are called a warband leader because you decide how you want to lead it. If I decide that I want anyone who bothers to join - well, you get what joins. If I want to kick you for any reason, including "I don't like your fashionhammer sense" - it's my warband. And I have every right to kick you for that exact reason. If I decide to kick everyone not playing marauder and with a name not ending in "r" - well, time to roll a new mara. Warband being open or close doesn't change that in any way. You don't create a warband to serve the pug casual players who want to have a group cause that makes them feel better. You can, that's called overflow, and is usually called in region chat, but opening your warband doesn't automatically make your warband FFA pugfest, you, as the leader, are allowed to keep it as sweaty or casual as you want. And the only thing that can really affect you is members leaving, usually due to not having fun in your warband. So, once again: opening your warband has nothing to do with catering to casual players. If you want a warband lead in a specific way different from every other warband running at a given time create one. If you can't put even this much effort don't expect others to play into your expectations about warband gameplay.

RoR doesnt deserve being taken seriously.
