i rather have the feeling the aao is bugged bc order wipes destro at keeps with 40 aao (happend today in TM). either destro is hiding/not fighting or destro is in generel less orginazied, has no healers etc.

First, organised WB loves free RR and pug sieges are nice way to farm them, soo the good players that know how to funnel will just go hide in keep and wait for the ram to destroy two doors, then they wipe pugs and claim free bags.
Second, 40% aao feels like nothing, feels like maybe one side has smaller amount of boxrunners or warband surfers.

I have a feeling that quite a lot of players might not be in the rvr or afking next to WC, no clue how big impact it is but it often feels like that, also i wonder if aao takes pop of the whole zone or just rvr because for me it feels like it might count way more people than it should.

Yep, sooner or later it will be no other activity in RVR. Just one spot, one battle, who have less ppl will loose. A clear perfection.

Not sure what times you are playing but usually when i am on [EU times] it's 20-60 aao for order

Also if you avoid zerg and try to pick your fights with smallscale / solo its fun.

Literally 60-100% AAO as Destro at all hours of the day for weeks. And how coincidental it is that Order will leave 5 keeps completely undefended only to suddenly appear en masse at the fort. Then when people point out the extreme imbalance and x-realm problem on the forum the thread gets locked by a "community manager" who calls them salty, wow so professional.

Why is it that AAO doesn't increase HP/damage/healing done?

I do a lot of SC's while sitting in cities, but when /t4 starts popping off they need people to defend, I go help. Maybe what you are seeing is a mixture of a people answering the rally call + people logging off/in.

It's hard to tell (on our end) if it's the ebb and flow of players logging in / logging out or if xrealmers are swapping.

It wouldn't solve anything. There is no 50:50 split of players at any given time. If you played on live you would knew it. Back then there were faction locks as well and the balance wasn't any better.

Think about incentives, not locks. People leave one side for many reasons and not in all cases they log the opposite side. There are many other activities or even the log off button. Wiping is for many people a good reason to quit the game, especially when the time of day is late already.

Punishing players is never good road to go. Instead give loyality renown bonus based on ip for sticking on one side.
For example 5% renown increase account wise for 1 week on same side, for 2 weeks - 7, for 3 - 10, for month - 15. Loyality renown bonus stack with all renown bonuses and that how you promote ppl to stick with ther realm and whoever want to change realm could still do it
