Re: Why do people hate witch hunters?
You don't need warbands, you can choose who to kill and you grab all of the renown and loot. When you can't kill target you stagger and run away. Rinse and repeat. If you want to be even more cancerous, duo with another wh so you can kill almost any solo player.

WH/WE running off to die solo in enemy backline and then complain in /ad about op heal classes is indeed my main reason for hating them in my own team. They even tell you in sc chat that they don't care and want to play solo - in a team fight situation like scenarios.BelligerentBob wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 4:18 pm As a healer, my disdain for WHs outside of Rayzr, Hon, & Bestfriend stems from their unwillingness to assist in a melee train in PUG scenarios. You aren't going to kill most healers by yourself, stop overextending into the backline repeatedly and giving away free points. Its a waste of AP and mouse clicks to heal most of yall tbh
Dying is no option.
Re: Why do people hate witch hunters?
It's primarily a solo class, it really doesn't matter if anyone wants you in a party or not because you can get more renown than their group will alone anyway.
Re: Why do people hate witch hunters?
t's pretty simple. Playing a good WE/WH requires a lot of experience and knowledge about other classes and the overall situation in the game. Due to the consistent solo gameplay people prefer with these classes, they have gained a somewhat bad reputation. However, their capabilities in ORvR are very underestimated. They are able to morale pump their group, can apply AoE outgoing heal debuffs, put anti-resurrection effects on crucial targets like warband leaders, and cause chaos even in organized WBs. With the right sets, they can punt people out of seemingly safe positions.OstianKing wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 2:25 am Something i've been meaning to ask; why is witch hunter so hated? Witch hunter was a class I wanted to main but after hearing how most party kick them out, it lead me to pick warrior priest but i still never got a clear answer.
There are many reasons to choose WE/WH, but currently, the emphasis on AoE spam in nearly any content, in which deparment they do not excel, overshadows these reasons. Generally speaking, I feel that these classes now require much more external organization than classes that straightforwardly AoE spam. This is very evident in cities where for example WL+BW warbands solely blob, not having to care for their positioning - while this is a rewarding experience for them it makes life for mostly ST DPS'es like WH/WE quite miserable as you need to be very careful where you walk into to stay in one piece.

Re: Why do people hate witch hunters?
in Warband they dont bring AoE - in groupcontent were they could really shine 90% of the WH behave as if there is no group ...
In GOOD City Warbands is always space for good WHs/WEs .... because you play at least 1 Single Target Group and if played correctly WH/WE excel in this role
BUT
most of the WHs do not understand that in this game you focus targets out of position not specific classes. So they go in the backline in stealth, pop on a healer (who has ton of deff gear, a 100% uptime detaunt and some "OH ****" Buttons) totally out of range for their group making themselves the BEST Target for the ENEMY (out of Positioning) while achiving nothing.
They pick the wrong targets AND actively hurting teamplay in content that is designed for teamplay.
from the 10% good WHs you can remove the 5% who are only playing when having a full group and the 3% who are too afraid to take ANY risk of die'ing.
Leaving you with an abysmall small amount of WHs you can actually count on

my own opinion on the topic: the skill floor, knowledge and game sense requirements of both the player playing the class as well as the team that is playing with it is too high for most players to utilize effectively. this leads to people thinking the class is useless but when utilized properly in content that befits their strengths WH (and WE) are both very potent. it also doesn't help that most players who play the class only play solo or with others of the class and this heavily stagnates their skill growth as they don't learn about how to properly play in group content like scenarios, city, wbs, etc. so when those players join actual group content and fall flat they are often the target of ire from their teammates.
people just hate them because most players are not good enough to play the classes effectively. the classes don't shine on their own, unlike other classes with more simple kits and easier rotations/spammable aoe abilities that make them good in all contents with less effort. since WH/WE best use cases are in utility/supportive roles their teammates are often not knowledgeable enough to know how to play around them and make shine.

Re: Why do people hate witch hunters?
if you must know why they are actuality hated its because WE/WH had been broken for years (5 tatics broken heal etc) with exploiters running them all day every day, then add the gank groups of WE/WH farming solos for RR & doing nothing in zones but farm RR & kills for kill board Epen so after years of that no one liked them or people that played them as it brought out the worst of RoR player base that played them just to farm kills & that was 95% of them it fractured the community as WE/WH gank kill board Epen meta became a game within a game
