The kind of ' robe armor' thing ( inspired from asian culture) is actually something i like from an aesthetic point of view, the problem is that the game used such poor models for it on most SM sets with no distinction between armor part and robe( they all blend ugly in the game except maybe the SoV armor).

If you take a loot at some of the concept Art for the game, it looks much better.

Hence the answer to make a better apperance is to use certain dyes to try and minimize this( contrasts such as white/black in the right part. As mentioned another problem is that the SM sets are very dye - unfriendly hence why we have told the devs to make the SoV cloak at least dyable with an alternate skin.

P.S. SM helms are really ugly indeed, but you got the best hair options of all races at least :)

I think the developers need to put more care into the SM set. Look at the last set that came out, the DP... I have it and it looks like it was made without love, at least the new parts: shoulder pads, helmet, and cape.

The helmet is nice, but the texture quality is terrible, with several visible seams, and the paint doesn't blend properly.

The shoulder pad is tiny, but if it were bigger, it would be acceptable.

I think they were too shy to make the cape bigger, or they could have made it with more care and visual appeal; maybe they could have kept some fabric on it in addition to the wings...
