I played live from closed beta till the very end of the Badlands (and I still have the fraps footage of the final moments of the Badlands to prove it). I knew the live game very well, and have been on and off in RoR for years.
My OPINION: RoR is far and away better than live ever was. There were endless bugs and balance problems in live, which is why it kept losing players.
Sure, there are things that happen here with class balance that I disagree with. But there has been more support, development, and balance here than there ever was on live. The response time is far better here than live. And SO MUCH more content has been rebuilt/built and implemented here than ever there was on live. They fix bugs quickly here, where in live we would have to wait months for glaring issues to be addressed - all while losing more and more players due to frustration.
There are things that I wish I could change (class tweaks/balance changes, itemization, etc), but all I can do is suggest things to the development team and hope that my points are taken though I know the dev team is under no obligation whatsoever to listen. But no game is ever "perfect", especially an MMO. This will continue to change over time. What it is today, will be different in a year, or (hopefully) five years from now and beyond.
Again, this is just my opinion.

Re: Relaunch - 2nd Server - Classic Warhammer Online
Not going to happened for a few reasons first is the population of the server, Even at peak RoRs population is a low to medium sized server so spreading out a already somewhat limited player base will only cause more harm than good.
Second is that the devs never had access to the original source code of the game meaning they built everything from the ground up and I dont think the vision was to recreate a exact replication of the original game.
Third is pretty much longevity this server has been out for more than a decade and keeps getting content and updates and I dont see it end anytime soon unless something changes.
Enjoy RoR for what it is rather than dwell on the past we are after all very fortuned to still have this game around, I still jump in from time to time even 11-12 years later.

You don't want live server back, you want to be 15 years younger again, but sorry, that's not going to happen.
Not active
Re: Relaunch - 2nd Server - Classic Warhammer Online
There used to be another private server called Warhammer Flame Of War (just Google it), that server was more like the original game. I don't know if it still active

Perfect response.
Live was fun for what it was, but it was a complete mess from start to finish. RoR is a far better version of the game, and if it had the same-sized community that live did, with the same level of active guilds, I bet more people would realise that.
The RoR dev team went full Tony Stark and rebuilt (almost) the entire game from scraps of code, while adding more new content annually than live managed in its whole lifetime. And they do it all for no financial gain, only their passion and love for the game. The live dev team were only there to keep the game in maintenance mode once it was clear it wasn't going to be the WoW killer they expected it to be.
Live will always be a great memory. RoR, despite its desperate need for project management and a stronger community, is the true WAR experience.
