I honestly don't think any system they bring in can truly fix RvR, as the original design of the game being Realm vs Realm has been lost. Things can be made better for sure, but we'll never have AoR-level campaigns back again.

The whole premise of the game, from PvE to the lakes, was two separate realms locked in a never-ending battle for dominance against each other. That doesn't exist in RoR and isn't coming back. All there is now is one big pool of players that choose to pick whichever side is winning to zerg surf, or pick which side is losing to farm the surfers. There's no allegiance to a faction or rivalry against the enemy faction beyond whatever alt people are looking to level that day.

I strongly disagree with this thread, xrealming is what keeps the game going, not what is killing it.

Allow me to explain:
Ninjagon wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2026 1:14 pm Good organized guilds switches to the AAO side, so they can have better fights and more kills.
That is the way.
Switching an entire organized warband and filling the roles is not a process that take 5-10 minutes. The most well-known guild that switches is a small man, they are skilled players who can turn the tide of a battle and they are often fighting into AAO with a very VERY good KDR. The idea that multiple organized warbands are switching into AAO at all times is an exaggeration of the facts. In my timezone, I have never seen more than a 12 man switch from one side to the other.
kpihuss wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2026 2:05 pm I'm sorry, but I don't see that in my usual playtime. I only see one side pushing for a fortress, the fortress starts, and then there's a huge shift of players to the defending side. The population goes from 55% vs 45% to 45% vs 55%... :(
I'm glad you brought up Forts. Yes, there are often population spikes during Forts (especially defense). But that's not because of xrealming, that's just literally people logging on because all the discords get pinged with a "@here LOG ON FOR FORT DEFENSE". We all do it, that's realm pride in action!

My core point here, if I'm planning to form a warband, I log on and we're already at a population advantage. What incentive do I have to go and take fights against other organized warbands if their reward structure will be much better than mine? So, I'm motivated to encourage Order to log on to or to form on Order side myself to balance things out. But then there's another factor, in NA prime, Order have a lot more experienced / high skill players, so if I switch, it becomes an absolute crapshoot and Destro logs, swinging the AAO around... now someone needs to log onto Destro to continue the fights... You see what's happening here?

Most of us forum trolls here have multiple BiS characters, it's not about the crests, or the rewards, or the KD. I want to get into good fights against good players.

So...?
We do see in ours, in fact TUP started trend of full warband switches years ago in EU and it become "normal thing" by now.

Nameless wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2026 3:06 pm My most dearest memories from original WAR were linked with quite strong attachments to realm pride. That brings additional layer of gmaeplay. Unfortunately that is totally lost atm and upping rewards wont being at up.
The only important now for a lot plyers is War Crest and Kills, but the soul of the game is lost. ...

If this is really the only importance to a lot of players, then introduce a "realm pride" or "campaign pride" buff. Said "buff" would increase the longer a player stays "loyal" to the chosen realm by increasing War Crest drop % or some other carrot driven buff; the moment you swap realms the buff reverts to 0%. Maybe after every "fortnight" the buff increase by a set value, .5% or 1%, encouraging long term allegiance. Also, once a certain % is reached 25%, 50%, etc... then "campaign" related quests become available...

iono... i am just a player from LIVE that might have learned a thing or two watching the server burn then eat itself alive with no new player support...

Fort just happened during EU prime and there were no large population swings: https://maartenson.net/ror_graph.html check the population trend graph, it actually looks like Destro LOGGED ON to attack the fort.

TUP hasn't ran a 24 man in years. Occam's razor is just that people check discord messages and log on for forts because they offer *checks notes* substantial rewards
