The sham/am mechanic should work, you just get no visual feedback as the cast bar isn't changing.
Dying is no option.

DoK/WP are the best healers ingame: best AoE heal, best armour, easiest to play as well.
Unfortunately it was the same in original, making some of the healers (AM/Shaman) unwanted in organized groups.

That's what I've heard.. but it's not.. I've tested it in pve to be sure.. doing 5 dps casts and then a 3 second heal cast, but the heal is not going of for the entire duration which with 5 dps casts, it should be practically an insta-cast. I last tested it a handful of days ago though.. but that was after someone had said it was working too, and it wasn't.

Regardless, WP and DOK are by far superior over other healers.. AM and shamans are currently at the bottom of the pile. Unless of course you want a dps AM. Bleh. Sad panda

Does not work for me as well. Aza has confirmed that AM/Shammie shorter time casts are not working now.

The dok is not easier has playing You is never have to play heal or not tests the other heal
I have to play sham more of 2ans and I find him easier has to play, The dok is more resistant but normal it has nothing to escape, A good sham to play is impossible has touch "stiky fitzz" "run away " (must have!) and "eeeek" All the tools to be to carry of all!
Every healer has its advantage and its inconvenience there is one easier than the other one
sorry for my bad english...

The healing is broken? Where? It's fine. As the casts are rather short, stacking willpower doesn't increase your spells much so you might just stack def.
Right now, you also lack escape strategies (no punt, no aoe detaunt). Plan a little ahead for not getting raped by range dps.

Linae wrote:ATM, DOK's and WP's are the best healers in the game, at least in numbers. After that, probably zealots and RP's, and last sadly are the shamans and AM's. Although ( I assume shaman is the same) the AM's mechanic is broken where you cast either heal or dmg spells and it decreases the opposing spell cast by 20% for each point up to 5 points or 100%. So atm, what should happen is, if I cast 3 dmg spells, my heal spell should be 60% faster. But it's not. Our group heal spell takes 3 seconds to cast and single target heal takes 2.5 seconds, way longer than the other classes. Another issue is certainly trying to cast single target heal and the recipient goes behind a 2 inch twig and you waste your cast because " you can't see them".

I'm not sure it's just because we aren't T4 yet and maybe that's where AM and shaman's come into their own, I don't remember, but I do remember on live I was one of the top healers and a top helaing AM, and now I have actually retired her temporarily. Hopefully their mechanic will get fixed in the future, and hopefully they'll get improved. ( note, they do well in t1 though!!).

Granted WP's and DOK's are tricky to play, but they can kick serious healing ass!
Spot on, Linae :)
