Since on this server jumping is handled differently than it was on live. I do not remember being able to get out of melee range by no other means than jumping frantically without a snare on live, while on RoR I have seen tons of being avoid imminent death simply because they knew then to time a spacebar tap.

I almost exclusively play kiting classes and I think the jump change is great. Yea it might not be the best solution but this is an alpha game, give it time.

Besides you dont need to jump to kite (like some people have claimed, which is 100% bs), and if you do for some reason need to jump in combat, like getting over an obstacle, you should only need to jump once or twice, so you wont get snared that much (plus whoever is chasing you gets snared too), so I dont see any problem with it.

Didn't read entire topic but wanted to say a few things about this jumping exploit. While I'm happy that developers are fixing exploits, I can't help but feel this solution is like hitting a fly with a hammer. You fix problems and create them (at least to some players).

Creative kiting involves jumping through bad terrain to confuse whoever is chasing you. Sometimes this means you have to jump repeatedly.

Jumping is a great way for a kiter to quickly remove finger from a movement key and do another key combination and still keep moving in the same direction without the need for awkward reaching on keyboard. Sometimes a need may arise to do this repeatedly.

Also I and I'm sure also many others never intended to exploit when jumping, and this change makes them all look like cheaters now.

It is not my intention to complain or whine, just my few cents on this topic and developers may do what they wish with this information. Cheers :)

I jump more then anyone and support the bunnyhop change.

It seems to me half of you havent even logged in to see how it works and instead all pull together to complain like spoilt brats.
If you cant bring a solid debate as to why then do us all a favour and **** off or even better get yourself banned from posting by acting like a c*#t.

It's called bunnyhopping, it's when you jump constantly in an attempt to get away from the enemy, since the jump brings you further away from your target than just by simply running/strafing away. Now it's so that when you jump again after jumping before, in combat, you get a 5% speed penalty, which can stack up to 20% for repeated bunnyhopping.

this should only apply when rvr flagged btw. dont see why it should apply in pve situations?

11 pages and only ONE person proposed an alternative? Everything else is pure bitching? Wow, what a surprise, not. Worst self entitled community ever. Drain AP (in combat), increase chance to be crit, etc... If you are simply going to complain without giving alternatives, why are you wasting your time? Test it and then explain WHY it's affecting your gameplay.

Don't make the slow stack? Slow by the amount that warping speeds you up, don't punish people for jumping.
This is not a change to fix an exploit, this is a fix to prevent bunnyhopping.
