It's a quite basic point of view but not too far from what's happening now on server. We can continue like this all day long unless a general direction is taken. I'd love it to be large scale but currently I have few hopes.

For me, balance between realms in both small scale and large scale is impossible in this game because of that kind of unique mechanics. Removing or changing them too much kills this game's soul.

Guild Wars 2 may be the game some people here are looking for.
I understand, this game of extremes - too high damage, too high healing, too much damage reduction from guard ability without cooldown.... Stupid balance, in any case, 2021 now and need to change something or change the game.
After all, many ask why so many players with defensive builds :D
I agree, RoR 2021 needs to change : revert it to a version closer to WAR (keep bug fixes ofc) and completely forget about that ranked thing. :lol:

Running in a defensive build is fine when you learn how to play your class and to find your place. If people still run with those after years, they didn't progress at all and are still afraid of death in this game... it's a playerbase issue so there's nothing to change in the game to "fix" it.
Edit : btw, those defensive built people are very often the same asking why they can't kill a zog :geek:

Guard and healing are fine in this game. That was what made it different from others mmos and fundamental for WHO in ages.
If u want reduce inpact of tanks where it is too strong and mustn't be, there 2 points:
1. Remove Disracting Bellow back to m3 how it was at live. Idk why its still m2, when its obv to strong for m2. Or just nerf % for damage decline.
2. Remove last changes about challenges and dot damage count for this. This change strengthened the already strong positions of the tanks in premade fights, when it was "leading" without it.

Guard is not too powerful and I do not think anything should be done to make shield tanks less desirable or less impactful in performing their role. Too few play them as is and they are crucial to open RVR.

On my opinion 2h tanks should get guard with 25% damage reduction and it should be with some cooldown too.

If I would change anything about guard atmo without really nerfing it, I would make it learned at 16. Get that **** out of t1, healers are already a nightmare in t1 with a lack of kit available to deal with them, guard just amplifies the situation to silly levels.

I thought that change was reverted because all of collective crying was threatening to drown the server. Then again revert and the Dev team don't go together at all (I'm looking at you pet pathing).

Problem not in guard. Guard is just a part of problem where def geared def rr healer became imortal, and make all pvp into undying healfiesta for half hour. Just make normal scaling to willpower or nerf heal overall so some guys cant stand in center of melle blob and freecast=> have top heal (yeah im about doc/wp). Bellow to powerfull? Siphon can insta counter all dmg burst. So we have nonstop bellowed sifoning def melle blob of cancer that refuse to die. And tnx to that some healers and clases are ofmeta and some in godspot. This cancer is making game boring, but casuals with their opinion will scream everything just becose they can, so hope for change near zero.

Every healer has rampaging siphon. Problem is shield dok/wp is super op.
