Really calling it xenophobia ? I respect russians i might not agree on certain stuff. But its good they got their own channel instead of general or advice beeing a place for native languages to be spoken for all to see its just plain rude by anyone who does it. And you mods really need to mod the russian channel too as ive seen people complain its a harassment ground of ukrainians in there.

I actually didn't seem upset at all. I simply stated I would uninstall if a full wipe came to be. I really doubt you're about to ship me some cookies either. As far as respect, it is earned not given.

Do people speaking French, German, Italian, Spanish or any other languages I didn't recognise get called out on it too? Because so far I haven't seen that happen.magicthighs wrote:Lol. You swore at the guy, who wasn't spamming, and told him to shut up and use /8. Last time I checked, Russian players are still allowed to use /say. I also love how you're apparently psychic and can tell that I was "bitching at" you because I was "beaten badly".StormX2 wrote: There have been cases where an Order Group was beaten badly, in that group was a GM. Because this GM was losing, I was actually bitched at for telling a Russian, who was spamming say chat with big blocks of russian character, to use /8.
Again, you don't get to tell Russian players to shut up and only talk in /8.Telling people the correct Chat to use is pretty standard for non GM's to do, yet i was repremanded and told, "Im not allowed to tell people what to do"
No, because most peoples from aforementioned nationalities actually make an effort to integrate with the rest of the community and speak a common tongue

People have been RR 40 for MONTHS now.
It honestly can be done (getting RR 40) in one or two solid keep sieges with a quality group. What exactly is the point of a renown rank roll back? We are already limited the Dev gear because Anni is yet to be implemented. With that being said, rolling back to rr 29 serves one one point, a reduction in renown ability points. If you're goal isn't to actually limit gear progression but to reduce damage via reducing players over all state point allocation possibilities then just say so.

I think Russian speakers actually outnumber English speakers on this server. Why don't you learn to speak Russian?peterthepan3 wrote:No, because most peoples from aforementioned nationalities actually make an effort to integrate with the rest of the community and speak a common tongue
Edit: I mean native speakers, by the way. If you were to rank nationalities on this server by population, first would be Russians, second Germans, third everyone else. So why the hell should Russians be forced to speak English, a language most of them are not exactly fluent in?

As to respect being earned, if reviving this game, that you have the privilege of playing, completely out of their pockets and free time has not earned your respect I sincerely doubt your legitimately offering them the chance to earn it.

Is that why you can see those languages and more used in /advice, /5 (LFG) and so forth, every day? Because of that effort? Speaking English when it suits your needs and then your native language when you can't be bothered (or can't speak English at all) isn't what can be called an "effort to integrate". It's only when people speak Russian when their so very open-minded fellow players start to complain, as you can see here or in the game itself, even if it's a non-global channel such as /say or /wb. That attitude existed well before channel 8, by the way.peterthepan3 wrote:Spoiler:

As for the common tongue issue... as difficult this may be to understand by native English-speakers and people of the so-called western hemisphere, Russian is one of those as well. As are many other languages on a more regional basis, including several of those mentioned before. And that's just Europe. Unfortunately, people on the Internet tend to form their own little communities where xenophobia towards people outside of it - this being the Internet, outsiders recognised by their language use - is very common and such people are subject to abuse of various kinds, often even when they speak the main language (in this case English) but not very well. Stereotyping is also common: you have someone cuss at specific people or just in general in a public channel, it's a case of that person being rude; it's someone cussing in a different language with some words recognised due to hype and suddenly it's "those <speakers of said language> are so rude".

Nuclear comparison.
Remember that, like cockroaches, bug abusers, dupers and exploiters are the players in nature with more resistance to radioactive fallout and adaptability.
You can wipe all you want, but without the measures to prevent it happening again, you will have a wasted economy once more.
I know it's hard, but the only way to level the gap is introducing income-proportional fees and price checkers. Like in real life.
Free market is a great thing, if handled by competent people. Not a bunch of greedy nerds, in wich I include myself, who would stab their best team mate for a purple item, with no comprehension whatsoever of economics and market regulations.
Oh, by the way. You don't report a bug for the Manticore/Griffon. I reported two and never got one. You report it because it's simply what you HAVE to do when you are part of a community and want to improve it.
