@Dan You’re a far Better SW than me, so I’ll take your word for it. My DPS theory is any less than 800 on main stat and you will get evaded too much. And if your swapping to and from assault anyways, the double gain from BS and armor just seems to tempting to pass up... but WS is king for physical damage...

Haha thanks but my point is that I don't really do any testing around damage, and there are certainly people that do. I'm running in about 900-950 str with about 900 WS (when tactic procs), but maybe that's overkill and I don't need that much armor mit... not sure.

The two words that dont have any meaning anymore seem to be "retired" and "whining".

iI think that when you started arguing that melee for sw is too dangerous while at the same time claiming 100% crit is not the death of anyone we kinda figured that out.

Just remember to have close to 6k hp and more. You can't deal dmg if mara and bg are jumping on your corpse.

Ehhh... you have low wounds and low toughness in assault SW. Basically your main mitigation is armor, crit reduction (through renown), and/or avoidance (mainly through renown). It's not like you're a wrecking ball... I've been blown up by high damage comps.

And guard, how often we forget that the thing you need to function in melee range is often, guess what, a tank near you, thats pretty much it.

You can play in melee, dont even try to argue the opposite and if you do, at least dont have the balls to claim thats more dangerous than having every attack in the universe crit on you.

The point is that you can counter melee SW, but maybe it's not through your precious 2/2/2 melee trains that destro has succeeded with since forever. Run a 3/2/1 and explode the SW with sorc/SH/mara.. rock/paper/scissors.

If your only point to someone being out of line is "well you can always play around it and gimp yourself against everything else" you dont have a point.

Specially when they dont have to do so, they can just put a melee SW in place of something else and run as usual but is just much easier for everyone, you can run even **** like melee wps and it works.

Seriously, is broken, stop trying to make ideal situations where its bad or arguing about counters that require much greater effort to pull off than just slotting a tactic and using a spammable skill.

And i fully agree that Melee SW is bad, giving him a spamable ini debuff that stacks with others and makes people, even tanks, explode, is not the way to fix it.

Have you tried countering it with a BG? Just keep the SW perma snared, KD for 5 seconds, superpunt him away from the fight, etc. etc.

Just wondering. (and yeah, i also think it is broken but you guys have to figure out a way to counter it as much as possible until it gets fixed).
