The Wipe - Post thoughts/comments

Just a brief statement on wipe:

-there is no point to wiping characters, names, ranks, rr, crafting. it doesnt add anything and just pisses people off. its not a subscription commercial game where its a big release and everyone demands we start fresh on the release date.

-the issue here is gold and gear.

Re gold:
-Gold drains are natural game mechanisms that remove gold from the game. The primary source currently is teleport costs, but also include crafting mats and stuff like that.
-currently, GOLD GENERATION GREATLY EXCEEDS GOLD DRAIN. So eventually in the long run you will have an excess amount of gold on the server and the price of everything will drop. While currently prices of certain items remain high, that is only because people keep leveling toons and need new talismans/drops for their characters.
-as t4 comes out and people reach max lvl and max gear, the price of items will eventually drop. Eventually people will reach where they want to be in terms of characters/gear and will stop needing to drop large amounts of gold on items.

So my suggestion is, don't wipe anything until Gold Drain is brought up a bit more.. I would suggest:
1) Bringing back the old Wounds debuff on death that can be healed for a price
2) Some sort of tax system relative to wealth of player
3) Gear repairs
These may seem annoying yes but are paramount to gold maintaining value.

That is of course only if the developers want to maintain a healthy economy. If they envision this game as being a game where everyone can obtain cheap items with a dead economy (thereby removing the importance of farming and smarting buying/selling) then there is no need for changes.

I should also add the current economy is in a good place right now. The really good talis are very expensive but obtainable with work, potions have a value relative to their consumable nature but not too low to make apothecary useless, and blue/purple drops retain value because of the demand for talis. People rolling new characters maintains high demand for these items so keeps prices high, but not too high.

Lmao Trump will be the US savior, you clearly do not follow the true media(not cnn/fox and all the other mainstream lies) browse the internet some more, there are forces at work that only people using their brain would notice.

Lol, 500g for a boundless wep, 300g for epic talisman, 100g for rare talisman.... there is some delusion within your statement, I have 1 character main right now, he has 6 days playtime that's 6 x 24 hours..I have made 78 gold in that time, non stop farming/killing/rvr/sc/quests/AH selling...the economy is NOT 'in a good place' by any means.

I know someone will say about crafting, what a boring nonsensical waste of my pvp time (yeah you can do craft while pvp...but seriously I'm far from a nerd and don't have the energy to do such things when I'm trying to heal suicidal dps and tanks

Huh? 6x24 doesn't sound like much but its actually around 3-4 weeks of "actual" playtime, (cuz noone plays 24 or 12h a day).
So in reality farming up 78 gold takes you 3 weeks if you play 8 (!!) hours a day 6 days a week.
Doesn't sound like a "nothing" to me

by comparison i hit 120 gold just through drops and apothecary sales in 6 hours worth of game play and some afk cultivating.

This is a long time for someone like me dude, I work 8-12hrs a day so you can imagine this is playtime spent over weeks as someone above said, clearly you need to get a job and step outside of your room once in a while

It doesn't matter. All we are saying is that we won't promise that we will never wipe. Look at it this way:

America has nuclear weapons
America says, "We won't use these unless we absolutely need to"
World says, "What reason could you possibly have?"
America says, "I don't know, but I guess that means they're not getting used."
World says, "Why not just get rid of them then?"
America says, "You know the second we get rid of these, someone else is going to show us why we needed them."

And after that they are nucabombing Japan with no reason...
