To successfully take a keep you need to outnumber the enemy and therefore get less rewards per kill. This doesn't sound like a well thought out change.
Successful siege without aao you only see, when you have premade warbands on one side and just pug warband on other. In such a case the pugs will quit quite fast and they get aao bonus.

When you kill the point for chosen 2h to be taken.in Wb well dread mastery was killed yeats ago....not a news , dosent matter what :2h are still prevalent in small scale and s+b im rvr........oh well....no innovation....the usuall patch note.
Atm the only completly usefull tank in 2h for rvr is bg....rest is for fun "only", maybe bo... The 10% crit for ch was *** idk why was given in first place when bg have alredy one for des side. Shame the best solution would had to be scrapped when was alredy live , cripple strike tactic dont stacking or reach the same result on rending blade with same tooltips changes.

Regarding the "Added a malus to AAO"
Really bad change. No reason now to play rvr when you are on the populated side. And let's say that you have no other thing to do with your life or the game, you are still better off by sitting on a BO rather than hunting for kills.
I know that this game, like many out there, is based on grinding and slow progress, but at least it should always be rewarding for the time you consumed to play it. Limiting those rewards is not healthy for the future of the game.

instead of complaining how you get no rewards, try to change things on your side
like not gathering whole zone in one huge zerg of 5-6 warbands for no reason if there only like 40 enemy, destro not going to fight that = you get no rewards

like organising your side in one huge zerg of 5-6 warbands to pose a threat to opposing side that does the same, order is going to fight that = you get rewards

honestly, population issues should be fixed automatically by players, populations will fluctuate, one month one side is dominating, another it's the other way round, it's always been like that, if both sides are somewhat balanced then ultimately everything will be okayish, it is war, not a chess play where you have even numbers, you win war with superior tactics, better skills and bigger numbers

This promotes cross realming and in NA there are guild nights that would tip the scales to 100% AAO and now they get nothing for playing in RVR. I get the reason behind it and this is the age old problem that they had on live even with subs. You get more renown for sitting at a BO than killing anything at that point and I can see a nerf coming for that also since last night it was a BO zerg fest. If that gets nerfed then no rewards at all for playing in RVR with them having 100% AAO. The effects were easy to see and it killed RVR they still had AAO since not enough logged over and everyone sat at a BO with destro looking at the zerg. With all this being said I'm sorry since I don't have a good solution for the root problem of uneven fights and after all these years IDK if you will find one.

This problem of populance unbalance in a single zone could had fixed yeats ago if it was tryed the only thing not yet tried of have all flags open and close at the same time regulary every 3-5 min.
That way both bigger and smaller side would have to spread equally like a net all over the map, plus vp reduced based on aao and an anti aao.
But no... Lets not make ppt fight 2pt vs 3pt on each lag, lets make ppl fight 1wb va 1wb and half on 1 flag.....
