I like the new T234, it feels more dynamic even though on some maps the density of players are a bit too clustered but then again war is everywhere.

It is possible, though it would take more performance for the server to handle specific areas of the map and changing the values of contribution for different actions should be no impossibility either, though Im not going to comment on what the system is right now as I believe aza was right in not disclosing that nor do I think it really needs a change atmTheseus wrote:Hm as you just cited it with no comment, I guess you agree?
Well I do mostly. So my question would be, is it technically possible to change the contribution system, to get more contribution from a certain area of the map? Or from certain actions?
For example:
If you turn in Resources you get 1 Point contribution
For a normal Kill in your group 2 Points contribution.
Killing a resource bearer brings 3 Points. So brings each kill while defending a resource bearer.
Resources have a timer of 10 minutes after that the remove 20 contribution, so you have to turn in
For a kill during a siege as an attacker 5 points, as well as a kill as defender.
Killing the keeplord brings 4 Points for the whole group who did it.
(Killing contribution schould always be for the whole group of cause, so that healer can get all of that as well.)
Conquering a keep gets you 20 Points, sucessfully defending one as well.
Conquering a Bo gives 10, defending one 15. (That way, defending a bo would be encouraged)
Those numbers are of cause only stand in and fully hypothetically.
My question would be, if it is technically possible and at all desirable to make it that way. And if its not desirable, why wouldnt it be. Or maybe that is the mechanic yet? If so it would ecourage fights if we would know that.

I'm enjoying seeing all the players of all levels fighting side by side. In my opinion its a great change. Here are my first impressions so far. 1. Seeing a lot of large scale fights around the maps, this is fun. 2. BO's being flipped faster and fought over. I heard that was changed during my absence. Also good. 3. No one defending keeps. Seems offense just rolls in and takes the keep and the place is a ghost town.This is not so good.
How to get people excited about defending keeps? After all they are the main objectives on the maps, right? The first thought is obviously to give incentives to players. I know you don't like to give gear away easy for fear of people leaving. So maybe raise gear prices, but drop medallions to defenders more easily. Possible example could be like T1 BO RR, XP tic's ( If that's still a thing ). The medallion types could be given based on the their level so lower levels could get better gear faster and survive the big fights. Also I hear people complaining they aren't getting RR for killing the lowbie players. I personally don't care, but with the idea of making players happy perhaps since the lowbies are being boosted they could provide some RR. A tiny bit. Again, this is all provided this wasn't too difficult to do.
Just throwing it out there. Having fun in the big battles again. Just want to see keep fights make a come back. I miss them.

Isn't it a bit more punishing now for ungeared, and not 40rr T4 players to have to go back to t2, and 3 if they don't get medals for killing bolstered players, or bags for taking keeps?

Responding to things like this annoys me. You do get medals for killing bolstered players, they are based on the RR of the player. These players would normally end up in T4 at RR20 anyway as there really wasn't much of an RvR scene in mid-tier, so it's not that big of a change.
Bags are actively being worked on. That last hotfix an hour ago was related to bags. Hargim was kind enough to post the changes, that I mentioned in my last post, that are related to your whine.
I don't need to ask you to be patient, because that is by default the state you're expected to be in. The only people allowed to whip on Devs are the leads, and even then it's more like gentle nuzzling and sweetly whispered promises of glory.
The handful of repeated complaints about valid issues (and invalid issues that were rebuked!), despite the fact we've taken a stance to correct those issues, is borderline harassment 18 pages into this. If you see something that's already been talked about, I would suggest you bite your tongue.

If you cannot accept the terms we've laid out for participating in the project, you are not welcome here. We've minced words long enough of this particular aspect of community interaction, in both this thread, and the event thread.

back on topic, the group / wb invite limitation may get reverted back to it previous state, I seem to get more reports of crashing since that hotfix and if its continuing like it I will revert it until we can figure out exactly whats going on (though we have been trying to isolate this issue for quite some time)
