I would like the people involed with RoR project to also be understandable for community frustration with current situation - we just want to play the game we all love and enjoy and we don't know when it's the next time it happens - perhaphs never.

Having said that I really do hope so that the GM's will be a bit less strict with banning people, from what it seems it's probably 1-2 guys that got banned for minor infractions retaliating against all of us :/ I know how it sounds but trust me if from web masters are saying is true that we are defenceless against these kinds of actions sometimes it's better swallow pride for the greater good and choose the lesser evil

i dont think the staff should be less strict on bann's, because if they let people that are botting exploiting, hacking, stay and play others will catch on, and more and more hackers ingame, the game wont be fun anymore, or atleast what it is inteaded to give us enjoyment, and to strive to get those rewards, the staff are doing a great job banning people, and this ddoser or ddosers will pay the price.

The thing is, they didn't get banned it was a 1 week suspension (originally 3 days?) and it hurt their egos too much and they just """""quit""""" even though they still post here lmao.

Same **** with tempest wolves, 3 day suspension turned into the guild leader getting triggered to hard and pulling his entire guild out.

It takes a lot to get banned for good on this server. Sure there are some GM's that circles in the game like/dislike, but I don't think anyone is actually afraid of getting perma banned for the server, more like afraid they might not get away with something sketchy if a certain GM' finds them.

some people just are too sensative, and just swallow their pride for making a mistake, and wait until they can play again, butthat would be asking too much.

We don't even know if someone is doing this because the person is mad about being banned, which is only one of the reasons why asking for a less strict ban policy is stupid to say the least.
Pretty much always afk or tabbed out.

I knew someone would subtly blame the enforcement of rules for this.

Spoiler: If someone can drop your server by renting a botnet for $20 or $50 a month or whatever the price is, you ARE going to be subjected to that at some point. If you think you can run a server without having to ban anyone, you're sadly mistaken. If you capitulate to a DDoS attack, you demonstrate that you can be bought, by anyone, for that price. Anyone wishing to manipulate you or become immune to your rules can then execute an attack and make demands. Tail wagging the dog again.

As there is no way for two or more rival attackers to attack each other over you (because they're all anonymous), the only loser is the server.

I think this is a little unfair. Perceived injustice is one of the things that most readily makes people angry (I guess so we're motivated to fight it); it's totally understandable that players leave when they feel unfairly treated, and it's exactly the same irl. I've stated my opinion elsewhere on the bans in question, and I'll say that I'd absolutely leave the community if I felt there was pervasive abuse of power (even if only temporarily until there was some change). That would probably be after trying to discuss it privately with the staff who I feel are generally reasonable (which is currently the vast majority), and who had the ability to do anything about it.

There's an important note here ofc, afaik there isn't even any evidence to say that it's being done by anyone who was banned, so poku's original point seems somewhat irrelevant.

Edit: Druin got there before me on the last paragraph :P
