Re: A question for the devs. Not downtime related.
Does anyone have screenshots (DB crew?) of mounts that were never released in live? So far I gather there's only the manticore and squig mount as alternatives... but i've also seen a magus or two riding a dead naked dwarf.

they posted some shots of the other Mounts. They had undead Mounts which seemed pretty cool. I'll see if I can search it up..

FWIW, the Witch Elf class was originally going to be the Shade. I could only speculate that it was changed to be something more iconic (like Hammerers being changed to Slayers), but it could also have been a marketing thing. On the other hand, it would make it a weird exchange to then turn around and have male sorcs so as not to be obvious fapbait / conceivably "disrespectful."Gachimuchi wrote:If I had to guess I would extrapolate that corporate did indeed suggest WE and Sorcs both have male character selection, but were satiated with just one. I agree on the point of if male WEs were allowed, calling them Assassins would work and be perfectly lore friendly.
What a lot of people miss though, and it bugs the hell out of me, is that the War-Lions-as-pets thing is actually canon, and was canon before WAR released. The 7th ed. army book has two paragraphs in the War Lion Chariot entry about how the Elves hate needless slaughter, and Chracian hunters will raise white lion cubs to fight on the battlefield. On the tabletop this is only represented as chariots, but it's not unreasonable to think that maybe an individual hunter keeps their war lion close to them the rest of the goddamn time.

I loathe when lore is used as some sort of weird thing that is rigid and unflexible to the point of being a hindrance to game balance of game play (within reason at least), but it seems to me that only allowing female sorcerers would have been interesting and not at all out of line considering there are quite a few male only classes in the game. I guess they didn't want to turn some people off from the class (I did play a male sorc on live) if they preferred to play male. I believe female WP are not lore friendly either and they even had a novel to explain that change to lore.
The dwarf gyrocopter thingie never bothered me though. I thought it was a creative way to get around the fact that dwarfs in the tt game don't have cavalries. They couldn't very well not give them mounts. It would be absurd.

There were Sisters of Sigmar in Mordheim. Although the rest of the Cult of Sigmar didn't approve.

Magus disk annoys more than dworfcopters. Magus on barefoot looks even better than on silly disk. Only mount what is weak artstyle and game mechanism is the disk type. Wish for them a chaos horse... (personal opinion)

They could put the arabian horse , i used it on all toons in live even i could use the 75% one

But Disks of Tzeentch were not something that Mythic made up. They were something already in the chaos lore that I am sure they thought would be cool to incorporate into the game.
