Da Black Ork Boyz Need To Be Bigga!

If you check the leader boards the top three BOs are hundreds of thousands of renown points above the following there, and millions above the trailing top 20. They've put in more work than the rest, and it would make sense to display them as the warbosses. Would not be hard for a little GM interaction to change who's the biggest throughout the week, granted the GMs had the coding enabled as well as the permissions to grant a few players a 10-20% size visual.

Frankly I'd like to see players that are well known on the server given, if only temporary, visual enhancements gifted by the ENd to add a little flavor.

Alright, So this is not a serious issue in the game. Honestly, it's really not but I bet I'm not the only who thinks it would fit nicely. We need to have the black orks have some kind of system where they get bigger the more they level, They should be the only ork class to do this. They need to be big and mean! It's just a small cosmetic touch which would really allow players to know of the destruction faction who's the big boy and to get the hell outta his way. To add this sense of terror on the battlefield when a giant black ork comes stomping through the line. It would also put sense into the black orks being warbosses due to their spec trees.


Now I'm not saying the game is bad for not having this, No. Return Of Reckoning is doing a great job reviving a game which most of the newer generation never got to experience, an MMO which just shows the brutal world of warhammer fantasy. But I really do think that the black orks need to be bigger, it's quite hard to distinguish sometimes between a brawler or a black ork. The black orks need some kind of distinguishing trait that only they have and I believe it should be their size and once they reach a certain level, the growth will stop growing. This will also help figure out who's high level and who's not.

I also want this to happen because I'm ork bias sense I've always been intrigued by the ork culture and love doing my own version of those cockney faced gits. But one important thing in the ork culture is that the black orks are the biggest of the boyz and the meanest and when orks be fighting, they get bigger and stronger! I'd love to hear other peoples opinion on this cosmetic idea, I always love hearing other peoples ideas and thoughts.

Also one last reason I want this, BECAUSE I PLAY A GODDAMN WARBOSS!

All Orcs, (spelled Orcs in Fantasy) get bigger as they get older, and much like their 40k counterparts plateau until they best another Orc that is lording over them, where they differ is how much this advancement gives them and how fast they grow. The difference betten Boy>Big Un>Boss> Big Boss is a a matter of inches each step up and Orcs in fantasy take longer to gestate and grow.

This makes it so that a Warboss is huge compared to a Boy but only a bit larger than the Big Bosses around him. Black Orcs start bigger and meaner than other orcs, but are comparable to big'uns in size. The other thing to keep in mind is this:

In WAR you are a Black Orc Boy, attaining Boss-dom @ RR60 and big bossdom at RR 90+, You never challenge your betters to take their place, so you cannot advance in size or rank in the way that is important to Orc Kulture.

As this game will only go to RR 80 you will only ever attain bossdom, and the size difference between a boss and Boy is minuscule and honestly you would hardly be able to tell the difference. BUT by the time you get to RR60 you usually can wear armour that makes you LOOK larger and much more deserving of that boss title.

Lastly, the Black Orc is already unwieldy when it comes to his size, the fact he is already larger than everyone else is very noticeable.

Berserk choppa is bigger than a black orc no? RR80+ blackorcs need to be Grimgor size.

Why just BO? All greenskins have a growth boost for a short amount of time after a fight.
Even if it's way rarer for gobs (because you know, staying alive for a gob is a little more difficult), it works too. See Skarsnik? This guy is a lot bigger than the average gobbo.

And he has the most grudges in the dammaz kron of all greenskins.

Hmmm... what scale is the BO in RoR? They increased BO size on live, don't remember which patch though... but they were huge. I honestly don't know if we are using that size in RoR.

40k Orks =/= Fantasy Orcs, it may not be to your liking but the fact there is a difference and it is a noticeable difference. And when you are deserving of Warlord and Sov Gear you will be noticeably bigger then the other boyz. Considering you have never seen the difference scale for yourself I would wait and see just how big the difference is. And then if that is not a noticible difference we can look to alternative.

I am all for interactive roleplay, duels for big-bossdom etc, but if you want to be a boss get the RR title, prove that you can put the time in to become a boss.

@Penril we are using the post patch size scale.

@albionrare: Grimgor is a Warboss, RR 80 nets you Big boss at best (For sake of argument RR90 is actually Big Boss). RR60 gets you Boss. There is barely a size difference between Boss and Boy, and Big Boss is a bit larger. but not much.

But the leaderboard idea troubles me greatly, my issue is that it seems as if the black orcs aren't that big. I mean its been pretty odd to play a black ork who's the same size almost as a brawler

And yes gobtar is right, 40k and Fantasy orks aren't the same. 40k, the orks were never on the same world as the humans. Fantasy, These orks are a part of the same world. Big difference there.

Round two- either the git on the left of the flag, or right of drum
Round 3 - Probably right here

The point is, There is no major size difference between a boss and a boy when it comes to Black Orcs (same with big un and big un bosses). Big bosses @ RR80...that might warrant a small size buff but that is a long way off. Black Orcs tend to be kill joys, they don't fight or squabble in the middle of battle, and will follow the direction of a boss because he the most skilled and not just the biggest (usually hand in hand though).
