Implying these prices will remain permanent with the exact same loot system for months to come by which the attainment rate and overal disparity between those blesssed by RNGsus will only further increase, is outright paranoid. I mean I like challenges, but I also realize I have some sort of gaming addiction... and if I play 4-8 hours a day, and end up maybe with 10-15 medals when playing Dps in the zergfest of T4 fighting over last hits on targets that may drop medals... I'm close to simply having a crisis regarding whether to keep playing at all. (all whilst participating in a lottery where 1-2 people out of 300-400 hundred may win a Gold Bag unless its a 10 h zergfest of running circles in KV)
Yeah, I get it, some people will play regardless of T4 drop rates, but for some people like me who like achieving stuff like finishing gear grinds or hitting rank this or that, the current medallion draught in T4 orvr is beyond masochistic. As someone said before, getting Warpforged gear on live felt easier than the current Conq grind.
Part of me wants to keep grinding those medals, part of me realizes that it's sheer lunacy in its current form. If I hadn't my current addiction to this game, I would have just quit already.

This is probably the best advice anywhere on the subject of conq medallions.RyanMakara wrote:Implying these prices will remain permanent with the exact same loot system for months to come by which the attainment rate and overal disparity between those blesssed by RNGsus will only further increase, is outright paranoid. Also, if I may...
Time spent playing is irrelevant to Conq drops. You can play for 10 hrs and only get a dozen KBs if you're Zerging in a grp w/o a lot of DPS. Of those KBs, the medals get rolled on by everyone in the party. Of those Medals, only those from players above RRx give Conq medals.
If you're in a party getting **** tons of kills, you can get a lot of medals. But the RNG can still bone you. I palyed with JBZ's BW a few times since Conq, and for whatever reason that kid seems to roll pure 90's+. Where I got 5, he got closer to 50. Ofc, we also had Tanks and other classes that didn't actually want Conq to pass on their rolls which helps.
Also, technically I think if you -50% to the cost of Conq, that would be the "actual" price once the next "end game" set comes out. So Remember all the math is based on an "inflated" price to deal with Conq being, A Current endgame, and B, the latest and greatest.
TLDR: You have to ensure you are getting a decent rate of DBs. If you aren't, then it will take an excessively long time to obtain Conq. Sitting at a keep waiting, running supplies, or running with and relying on a Zerg to kill your enemies wont actually give you much of anything in terms of drops... Go form a Balanced group, and look for some fights.

Lmao this sounds exactly like my night last night. Running around as a duo or trio for a couple hours doing orvr and scs.. near the end of the night my duo and I compared medallion totals.. he got 8, I got 2. Praise be RNGesusDabbart wrote:If you're in a party getting **** tons of kills, you can get a lot of medals. But the RNG can still bone you. I have certain tendency to become addicted to grinding... On live, I was 100% interested into the game until I hit 100 on my DoK, then it became boring. Then I rolled some alts, started grinding upwards again. At some point I started grinding ToK unlocks. Grinding all gear sets in game stuff, grinding LOTD stuff, heck I kept doing Colossus when I didn't need it but I wanted to keep grinding it to get more Torn Pages of Liber MortisRyanMakara wrote:Implying these prices will remain permanent with the exact same loot system for months to come by which the attainment rate and overal disparity between those blesssed by RNGsus will only further increase, is outright paranoid. I know I may in the minority here, I partly play for the nostalgia, but also partly because some twisted part of me enjoys the grinding. Different people, different motivations.
I'll survive a few weeks or even a few months, but with current shape of affairs I'm on the rails that lead to guaranteed loss of motivation to log in. Meanwhile I'll keep grinding... that is, when I'm bothered to log in.
(sorry for ranting. I love this game, but my determination to grind versus the sheer size of the grind I'm facing are causing a lot of headache)
Re: Yet Another Conq Thread
I took the other option and took a break from the game as the current system was causing me to get irritable . Watch the forums now to see the changes to "work in progress"
One less healer, but sure there are plenty of healers .
Just keep playing if you enjoy it if not there are alternatives

Re: Yet Another Conq Thread
Would it be at all possible to only allow players in a party who are close enough to the killing blow to receive experience for it, also be the only ones eligible for the roll? It's pretty frustrating to be have someone who's chasing butterflies, dead or afk receive a medallion you and one other person in your group actually did anything for.

Re: Yet Another Conq Thread
@all I'm currently done rolling on medallions if you are a healer or tank pm me and I will do my best to spread the wealth.Dabbart wrote:Also, if I may...

@dabbart I was lucky to have amazing healers that carry me and let me steal their medallions.muahaha

Re: Yet Another Conq Thread
Not speaking from a coding experience, simply from a devil's advocate position: wouldn't that just mean the group would be forced to follow their DPS around to have any chance at medallions, since they're the ones getting the deathblow most of the time? I imagine you want to implement this because of pug warbanding, but I think it could turn into a step in the opposite direction (meaning, it's been established that DPS have an easier time of obtaining medallions.. now you want to limit rolls to only those closest to the killblow, aka where the DPS is?) And how do you code for deaths? Maybe my healer died at the same time I got a deathblow on an enemy; you want to remove the chance for my healer to get a roll for the medallion?NoRKaLKiLLa wrote:Would it be at all possible to only allow players in a party who are close enough to the killing blow to receive experience for it, also be the only ones eligible for the roll? If you're a tank or healer, and you're not supporting your DPS, what exactly are you doing?
