Re: Why are people so afraid of sieging?
tired of explaining what exactly a funnel is every single time whilst watching some dingus stand directly in the doorway, exhaust their healers and die near immediately

Spoiler:
I smash a lot of bots every day.
A lot of discussions have been started by them, that's true. We only close threads with offensive advertising, and those, mostly reddit copy pasta threads, are still open for discussion.
Re: Why are people so afraid of sieging?
The people dont siege because there is not reason to do that.
In siege u cant zerg, in siege u cant blob and u can be wiped. This is the main reason because RVR is dead and now is only about zerg and blob.
People will say it's because sieges are boring, but the real reason is that they can't zerg in a siege. Also, if you attack and the keep is defended, you give the enemy team a bag roll.
Also that there are scheduled city sieges, does not make there any motivation to play to win areas in RVR and push to the enemy capital city.
Everything could be fixed if they eliminated the bag roll from the defenses and only the side that wins the zone in RVR had the option of a golden bag in the roll. And of course, remove the scheduled cities
But I suppose that the merit of the game is follow the zerg, and not win the campaign as it should be

What do you mean you can't blob during siege ?Kpi wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 11:49 am In siege u cant zerg, in siege u cant blob and u can be wiped. This is the main reason because RVR is dead and now is only about zerg and blob.

For me, this is totally the opposite because all WBs are gathered in one spot, for funnel, in a fort/keep. WBs will try to coordinate to defend/attack at the same time the postern and the main gate, use/time oil during push, etc ...
Also, it is really hard to take a 3 star keeps when organised WB are already inside and we also know that some maps prevent the attackers to block the road for the keep (PvE road to T3 Elf keep for example). Some Order WBs abuse this system during RvR when they are too much farmed during RvR.

Yeah, the siege kills orvr, warbands sit on each side of a fence and very little happens. Mostly people prefer to fight in the open because it's more tactical with the terrain to hide in for ambushes and most importantly it's decisive and actionpacked fun.
The siege can also draws a ton of defenders to the lake for easy farming b/c anyone can shout it out in t4 chat and the keep to defend might be conviniently placed near your warcamp.
Shouting out an attack has nowhere near the same pull-effect. Losing a ram to whatever reason is a failure that causes a harsh penalty often killing the momentum and starting a blamegame. Since the introduction of personal loot-rolls the glory of being a top contributor (sieging keeps being a key part of this) is gone and the nice goldbagged carrot with it.
Furthermore sieges are boring because the lack of tiebreakers; morales are nerfed, speccable morales are non-existant because of lack of masterypoints in gearsets, moralegain is slow, ressing/healing is too overpowered with no viable counters and siege weapons are redundant/boring.. lots of these things are fixable - especially the masterypoints on gear which would make powerful m4s a much more viable tool for breaking through funnels.
Rant ova
