Remember that devs are working on WAR on their free time. So, be patient

I think the lack of concrete info provided about the server, its status/aims etc, is part of a general communication problem. Just look at the About page, it's ancient and there's hardly any real information there. It was a similar thing with the launcher warning msg about bugged mail, it just disappeared and never returned.
There's a lot of little things that could streamline things and reduce the number of these pointless threads imo: clearly stating the dev team's position on player feedback/suggestions for what priorities should be etc; make the "Alpha phase" on homepage a link with a description of the meaning actually intended by that (since noone seems 100% clear); making stickied threads of common bugs, particularly the ones tht tend to cause a lot of rage like mail getting lost etc; stickied thread on how exactly to report bugs (there's an old one by Elven iirc that you'd have to search for); ....... etc etc .
Yep you can scream that ppl should use search and/or lurk for a bit to see how things work, but that doesn't actually change anything. At least if you did this kinda thing, you could just link the appropriate info and lock the thread.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe the dev team's internal communication has been difficult in the past (I suppose cos you've just got a grp of disparate ppl together, working in their free time - I'm not knocking anyone for this, just to make that clear), so of course that then has a knock-on effect on communication with player-base.
I've been wary of posting this sort of thing in the past cos I really don't want it to be misconstrued as an insult or lack of appreciation, I just think it might be a possible cause for a lot of the misunderstandings and 'pointless' threads we get.

2 posts above you have a dev with 1843 posts? You can write 100s of info pages the players posting will not bother to read them
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7
Re: @Devs Please add group quee!
There's an enormous difference between Azarael's personal, day-to-day interaction with the player-base (which, since you bring it up, I think is a great thing), and the dev team having a unified stance on various aspects of the server that they clearly convey to the player-base. My post concerned the latter, and therefore a dev having 1843 posts is essentially irrelevant.
What's your 2nd assertion based on? I imagine it mirrors real life, some ppl will ignore even crystal-clear instructions/info, but many won't. Maybe you'd be surprised at how useful accessible and clearly-laid out information can be, and how many redundant questions/topics it can prevent.
Edit: Having such info available means that you can just link it and lock any unnecessary threads anyway.

Re: @Devs Please add group quee!
As I understand the devs work on things separately.Creating a roadmap thread would probably be more difficult than it's worth. And idiots would still ask stupid questions that are answered within it.
I kind of like just logging in one day and something new I didn't even expect is up and working, its kinda fun :^)

I think the devs have done an inhuman job on the game so far. I have a playable version of war!
Sure its not finished yet but every time I log in things are a little better.
We all want lots of things in the game the wish list is MASSIVE but all we have to do is wait.

@zealote
Basically you expect this project to be run like a corporate project. I think your expectations are wrong.
Based on 20y experience working with software ... most dont RTFM

Re: @Devs Please add group quee!
Why do they need to do that? Their are dev diaries monthly or so to know what the devs are doing
If you read the fourms or ask in /ad it's easy to know what's going on and what priorities are
I'd rather see the lvl cap raised to 26-27 so a bunch of classes can get hdebuffs over trivial **** like this.
You cant expect that level of polish for this website with updated FAQ, a "roadmap" and other stuff from like 5 people working on something in their free time
