Re: rSH how to deal with WL?
There is nothing to be done until they agree that WL is completely broken. Today half of the MDPS in the order are WLs!

Re: rSH how to deal with WL?
Just want to quote this again to make sure it doesn't get burried. Any good team pvp game is built this way.anstalt wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 1:23 amThis is a good point that is sometimes hard to remember.
This game is built around rock-paper-scissors balance. Everyone is supposed to be able to win against some, lose against some, and draw against others.
Yeh, it sucks losing to white lions, but it balances out with how often we win against slayers, or most tanks, or bright wizards for example.
SW, Kotbs, IB, Slayer, WP, WL, SM, Mara, SH, BG
Re: rSH how to deal with WL?
This is not specific to the match up of sh vs wl but it should still be valid. Remember first there is no real death penalty in this game, so fight and die it does not matter.
Now did you die to their opener? as in not even survived the first KD? if so you are not going to beat that person with your current gear solo unless you can range them without getting hit back.
The WL is the most mobile class in the game so kiting is hard but not impossible, though with the nerfed ranged of the RSH it's tough. This is where knowing who you are fighting matters just as much as what class comes into play, are they running with the pet speed tactic? the M1 root or confusing movements?
On my WL I rarely run the pet speed tactic but have the M1 root slotted so usually I can survive a surprise attack from a RSH long enough to get the root off into a pounce that won't miss to a snare/kd and that is usually enough to kill them. If I don't run that root though I will die before even getting close. The pet speed tactic will catch you off guard if you are trying to kite as it will catch up to you before you even really know it especially if you are playing from a high ping area.
Are they running guardian spec or AoE? if AoE you have a very real chance to kite away from them for a kill. Did they send the pet at you before they got a hit in themselves? if so you might be able to bug the pet out on a rock or tree or it just might see something shiny and leave on its own. I found the pet worked only if I got to my target, got a hit in and then had the pet attack otherwise it would usually just **** off into oblivion.
The pet is almost all of the WL's CC and in guardian spec it's 30-40+% of their dps so if you can kill it quickly do so otherwise avoid it as much as possible, keep moving around any type of terrain you can find especially rocks and trees. Pounce jumps the WL to where you were when they activated it so MOVE and they will miss and be stuck with a cooldown and maybe the pet still behind them.
The WL is a Front Loaded DPS as in if you can survive the initial burst you have a chance as their abilities are very AP intensive so they will either be out(beware the WL auto attacks are massive) or using global cooldowns to pop ap pots. So absorb pots can really save the day here.
The WL has an root/snare break for the pet that also gives it more dps but disarm/kd/punt work even during this ability.
Overall just try but it is a rough fight as the WL, at least on live was built specifically to counter SH/SHM. Here in RoR its even nastier.

Re: rSH how to deal with WL?
@ OP. If you're a decent RSH and get to BIS you can still defeat WL as a solo roamer, you adapt and build 9k wounds, learn what moves the WL has( best if you played one yourself so you study what they can and can't do) and use your counters at the right moment, use your potions preemptively and do not just react to the WL since their burst is high. Timing is everything in a 1VS1.
The requirement is practice and experience, results won't come without it.
Look at your strengths as RSH , you have very high Armor pen vs singletarget, 100 ft range and a pet that shoots through objects and does good damage with morales. You wont win all 1vs1 vs a WL( since some of them are BIS and tryhard on potions, and will ambush you at close range). But with enough gear and experience you can make yourself into a respected opponent, there are a few of those RSH roaming the lakes and i would never engange them on the open field as an experienced WL player,
. Lets nerf WL based on a RSH not able to kite it to death like it does with all other order melee dps 1vs1.
. There might be reason to tone down WL's in an AOE spin to win situation, however it has nothing to do with Pet WL vs RSH 1vs1.
WL with a pet out specifically counters goblins ability to kite, this has been the dynamic forever, so stop your opportunistic complaining. Just like WL can never defeat regen tanks 1vs1. Team up with a Shaman and now you're immune to WL' solos btw( hint: RSH makes for a strong duo with Shaman).

Yes, the ability to kill a squishy RDPS 1vs1 is completely broken! Nerf!!!

Re: rSH how to deal with WL?
No! WL needs to be revised, specifically the armor pen. A simple thing that made it extremely strong, with an absurd aoe dps.Farrul wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 3:38 am @ OP.
