Right now? Probably the promise of sovereign and some improvements to some of the more useless actions in the game (would really like we'z bigger to be useful). Other than that, I'm already quite happy where I am and enjoying things as they are.
Wall of text on medallions and stuff:
The medallion droprate / chance to get gold bags is a tough issue to attack.
Up until recently I wasn't really happy with the rate of medallion drops but now I understand why they are as they are. With access to organised guild groups, my rate of medallion acquisition has skyrocketed. It has probably more than halved my time to get conq. gear because of the sheer number of kills the organised groups can get.
Medallion drop rate was something that made me consider quitting, but since getting into organised events, my whole view and feelings have changed. I'm really enjoying the events and I'm far more invested than before. Organised activity gave me hope.
I don't think I agree with conq. gear on kills. For me that would either considerably de-value conqueror's (if the drop rate was high) or it would just be an insult to see one drop per week and never see something for your class... or lose the roll repeatedly to another member of your class.
I think the current two gear distinctions are enough variation. The focus on one of two primary play-styles and, as far as I am aware, there aren't really more than two play-styles for each class.
I am a bit confused as to why specific sets (and therefore play-styles) are locked to different types of playing. For example... If you want to play a backline healer, you won't be getting any useful set pieces in scenarios. The purpose of the current system is to let people choose what they want, but this seems much more forceful to me. You're forced to play the type of RVR that awards you gear for your chosen play-style.

I hope this doesn't sound rude and I'm not very experienced at this game. I played a lot when the server was capped at t3, and I really enjoyed it and came back this week and I've noticed it sometimes takes like 4 hours to win a zone and I don't remember it being like that back then. It feels very slow and a little boring to me that's just my 2 Cents. Unfortunately I don't know enough about war to give suggestions but I just don't remember it taking so long to take zones. Also I don't like how rats were removed, it was a lot of fun to solo roam at rat tunnels because there's always ppl around them, now I'm finding it harder to find ppl for solo roaming rvr.

Something I've always disliked about WAR. They may be different types of PvP but it's still PvP, why separate the gear? It is forceful to require a specific type of RvR to get RvR gear. If they were just copies it would be no big deal but they're not, as you say.Rathael87 wrote:I am a bit confused as to why specific sets (and therefore play-styles) are locked to different types of playing. I think the gear grind got extremely out of hand on retail, along with renown ranks. The retail devs did what they thought they had to do to keep people paying for access to the game. RoR has no such pressures since we are literally not allowed to contribute financially. Linear gear & RR progression, though, just keeps people chasing points instead of mindfully participating in RvR.

Having aao more often would make me join rvr more frequently. Usually I log off, when not in the mood for sc and my side zergs in rvr.
Dying is no option.

Re: POLL - RVR - What would make you play more?
I don't get the separation of the gear either?! Now playing a dmg specc as a non-specific dmg class I am forced to do SCs... Even if I would like to get into lakes, but why should I?! The only rewards would be fun (most important ofc), subjugator weapons and accessories which are connected to luck (& contribution ofc) with rolling on loot bags... If these restrictions on obtaining gear to run a specific specc would be lifted, that would be great, yah. ;P Get rid of emblems/medallions and reward players in letting them choose what ever gear is needed and through whatever PvP players feel like playing! One type of token should be enough?

Re: POLL - RVR - What would make you play more?
My only issues has been when there is nothing to do. i have never understood why i could not get rvr points for doing quests or killing quest mobs, rats aside. it would sure help my blood pressure after a few really bad hours of getting the sharp end of the bad stick.

Because it's PvP experience, not PvE XP.ipurgetheheretic wrote:My only issues has been when there is nothing to do. i have never understood why i could not get rvr points for doing quests or killing quest mobs, rats aside. it would sure help my blood pressure after a few really bad hours of getting the sharp end of the bad stick.

Less grinding and more Action based game play instead of battlefield objective game play.

This is so vague that it means exactly nothing.umjuway wrote:Less grinding and more Action based game play instead of battlefield objective game play.

Re: POLL - RVR - What would make you play more?
Less grinding FOR GEAR, and more Battle-orientated game-play instead of chasing BOs for action. I'd think people who come here would understand the implied context but I guess I had that part wrong.Hargrim wrote:This is so vague that it means exactly nothing.
Another thing is the unused T2 maps, those were great and don't get used at all.
