Just had a good fight at KV Keep.
Well Destro beat us out, but it was close. And there was no AAO.
Going through posterns direct into ground lvl and holding it against destros who came back one by one. Build up m4 and go up.
Well we almost got keep lord but someone ran back and lord resettet.

With the posterns open on rank 0 keeps it turns into some kind of wb peekaboo on posterns, outer door and inner door.

In the past when defender pushed attacker out, they easily blocked door and it was safe. Holding players in keep is easier then to organize your wbs again and get back to the keep.

Now if they regroup on outer a fast attack through postern split them between outer door and keeplord.

The funnel is dead for sure.

I love to see the postern changes in action with my own eyes, sadly yesterday and the coming 2 days are taxing to me due to black friday nonsense at work...

But yeah now attackers can actually win when they greatly outnumber the defenders, as it should be :D

Thanks, played last night, for postern on outer wall let's organize the defence ! For the postern on inner keep that promize to be epic defence.

It was yesterday at Praag. After keep def my WB and me went to bed.
At some point you have to accept that you're going to lose, and there's nothing you can do.
before:
1. we could pushed destructions at keep door with morals and killed the tanks and rams and went back. Now it is not possible, couse keep doors are closed for defenders then they attacked.
2. we could made the wall (funnel) and 2 organised WB was able to defend any keep. Now it is not possible. This patch open our posterns.
3. we could shooted to enemy from canons, but we cann't got any canons with keep lvl 0...
4. we could fought at Lord, but we can not stop xrealms, they have more morals when defenders and power of lord depens from keep stars.
5. OIL was great for defenders, now it is nothing, couse attackers come from keep postern.
6. we could change the zone, and flagged another keep. While some attakers came to defend, we returned to zone which leaved and help to defend. Now it is not possible.
7. when we loose BOs we got the buff witch meke less our stats of defend.
and so on... This changes always up attackers and make less changes for defenders.
you're always going to lose.
We are going to fight, but the places, where we can chance to defend, become less.

I think Postern doors could be accessible to the attackers if the defenders more then 5WBs at keep.

Y and thats Wy they Do it. It stupid If even sides never can get a keep If The defenders arent braindead. So they have to Make IT harder to def. Is the 100% right way

I think you need to understand that you are not entitled to win because you are at your keep. A system must, as Genisaurus stated, function correctly assuming balanced conditions. Let us not forget that if you are at your keep, it is because you have lost the open-world battle. My view is that sitting there doesn't entitle you to win, and that's why siege weapons and attrition mechanics (like deranking => postern opening, to punish you for refusal to contest the map) exist. If you don't want to get deranked, your choice is simple: split your force between the keep and the rest of the map to maintain a supply line. If you fail to do so, you will be punished.

This change was intended to kill tedious noskill funnel rubbish, and by the sound of it, it succeeded. My long term aim here (and no, I'm not done!) is that the battle for a keep is fought partly at the keep itself and partly over the BOs which constitute its supply line. Expect cramming your entire force inside the keep to become a less and less viable strategy over time. Expect the same of attacking the keep with your entire force as well.

Do you think there are, except on the maintimes in Europe, enough people on the server to support such a gameplay. I dont doubt, it would be epic and absolutely awsome, but it sounds as if it would need a massive amount of players to sustain it.

Well, it's lucky for us that I receive complaints about zerging and requests to open more than one zone. Sounds like we can afford some diffusion.

Most of the future work now is going to be about breaking up blob and zerg, both using the RvR mechanics and using the actual combat system (implying reworks.)

For me, I really like the postern door remake. Blocking the main door is just too easy. One small bug we noticed with it was the Destro Praag postern door to the north didn't seem to work with the main door down and keep at level 0 (I will check its in the bugs, but since this is a new feature and relevant to this thread just wanted to make sure the dev's were aware of it).

The Praag postern door will be resolved with the next restart, along with a more refined form of zone-wide DR, using a different implementation for its buff/debuff. Sorry, guys, but that 140% AAO **** is going to stop. If you can't be trusted to self-balance then I'm going to do it for you.
