Ideas about special zones for 16-39 are very tempting on paper, however there will be just not enough people to launch any meaningful action as is. At the very minimum it requires bolster overhaul and siege rework just for those zones to make it comfortable to siege as 12vs12 or so (or else they will be forever active). Way too much work to make those maps same dead deserts like it was on live.
According to https://www.rvrstats.additionweb.co.uk/ T2+ oRvR population fluctuates around ~100-500 depending on time slot and averaging at about 200-250 people in oRvR, out of those 200-250 people approx % of lowbies (<cr40) is around 10% (according to brief overlook into appropriate skirmishes on killboard), that is about ~20-30 people at best for both realms.
Dont be delusional, this not gonna happen. T2-T4 merge is well justified, there is literally no other option to use those maps.

Re: what happened to the game
Im in ror 12 june 2014r., all this time alpha phase, and all this time reluctance to experiment is so strong here.
Why we just for two weeks separate lowbie from 40+ level? Why we can make 12 ppl warbands for them if community is small ? They sky will fall on our heads or?

Dont accidentially confuse me with the one opposing experiments. But, look, think about that a bit more yourself - development manpower is strongly limited, ability system rework still ongoing, lots of things are broken, even with new system fixing bugs takes huge time, dungeons are nowhere near following few months, no True Balance Patch out and list goes on. Who, how and when will work to separate tiers? Who, how and when will work to change bolster system to fit 16-39? Who, how and when will work to change scalers on lords, doors, oils, rams, cannons etc to fit into ~20-30 people of combat rank 16-39? Should all this be done e.g. instead of fixing kotbs m3, not working range checks on half of abilities on half of classes, no dungeons, etc? Just check bugtracker, check recent pts discussion on official discord about fps. There are way more important things to do with such limited manpower then creating a safe spot for midtier.Dajciekrwi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 11:03 am Im in ror 12 june 2014r., all this time alpha phase, and all this time reluctance to experiment is so strong here.

In a vacuum, ignoring all real issues with such wild "proposal", yeah sure why not, that would be cool (no jokes, i'd love to try out, maybe if such feature would be released more would be inclined to boost few alts and maybe its even possible to reach something like 40-50 vs 40-50 in such new midtier, i believe could be hell lot of a fun to form some premades there). Lets test out! Thing is you cant so simply ignore real life and all the problems that are obviously there with your obstinate desire to create somewhat special place where you can ignore most of game mechanics and roll your face on keyboard and have fun without all those bloody pesky elitists, premades, sov gear wb, you name it ruining your experience. In the end on a long run, 16-39 is strongly unbalanced (we have troubles balancing out as is and now imagine balancing separately 16-39 bracket on top of all this, feels like a complete leveling overhaul to me with thinktanking mastery tree positions, level on which what ability granted etc), there will be organised groups to further abuse it for fun which will make it very unpleasant leveling experience for newcomers so they will avoid it like plaque and level thru SCs asap. Or it may turn out to be unfun for organised groups so there will be only people leveling (which are very very very few). Zones will end up dead most likely in both cases, same as they were dead on live.
Its not about being open for experiments or not, its about carefully spending limited resources.
Re: what happened to the game
I dont want to turn this thread into something else. But, as I and many of us were/are probably diehards of this game, both in live and private server.Rotgut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 1:29 pm Taking a break is a perfectly reasonable response since the Devs been saying, since August, that this wasn't a balance patch. It was a "fix the code" patch. Balance patches will be rolling soon™.
Bugged spells and performance issues that the patch brought are super annoying, but i don't know why most people refuse to give the Dev's their due. They told us, months ago, what the roadmap was.
Adopt the "free game no bitching" mentality.
I stuck around for so long waiting to see changes to RvR. RvR has become a pve' joke, it sucks.
I remember when they were working on giving lord health regain based on BOs and such, to turn BOs into more of a part of keep taking and for whatever reason that was abondoned, I didnt agree with that at all.
And then they added the box carrying in RvR! that was kind of the final nail for me. its bad enough how there is no real pvp in RvR anymore and then adding that..
Youd expect to see these types of changes in major games that dont listen to player feedback. there was even a huge guild thread, talking about how wrong rvr has gone. it just got lost in the threads. Its like the devs of this are doing their own thing like any other game and not really listening to anyone, or only listening to those who are blind.
The reason I have such few posts is cuz I gave up trying around here, the account I was on for just giving my opinion and trying to offer feedback was banned, so...
I kinda hate the direction all of this has gone and now this ability thing is just one more thing, like whats the point of making things worse, why bring it to live server if it isnt better in someway? It sucks when you are so devoted to something and it just slowly dies and becomes something else, thats what this game is to me now.
I can hardly play for an hour at a time now (SCs), because the 'balance' has just gotten so terrible. RvR i havnt bothered participating in for almost a year.
T1 scs are just as bad as level 40s SCs now with all the inbalance. Its now in all aspects of the game for me.
I honestly dont know how anyone can stand playing this anymore? its a shame and its so far from where it could be. I dont know how it can become playable and enjoyable to me anymore, which is crazy considering how I used to spend 24/7 in it for literal years.
Re: what happened to the game
No need to fix what's not broken.

yeah except theres not going to be any rollback. id love for you to give an example of big budget company rolling back major patch after it went live. surely you didnt just pull this out of your assTrainInVain wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 11:44 pmGame has always been listed as alpha. Perfectly fine to upload a new patch, especially when it's a handful of people spending their free time to make this game available. Growing pains happen with all games, even the big budget companies release patches that have to be rolled back.bw10 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:46 pm If you were to inquire with middle school students during an IT class whether it is advisable to apply a highly experimental and likely flawed patch directly to the live server where hundreds of people are online, or if it would be better to test it on a separate server until it is deemed stable, what do you think their response would be?
the rework pretty much broke the game and the gameplay. dungeons are broken so you cant skip warcrest sets. overworld pve is broken so you if your side gets stomped in pvp you can barely do anything on your own. if this server had any halfway decent competition itd been already forgotten
