Launcher Loads, Won't Load Client

I'm having this issue now too. Have tried to connect a dozen and a half times, ran in all the compatibility modes available to me, administrator did nothing.

Oh, also, unchecking the box that makes the files readable-only did absolutely nothing.

i switched off run as admin for the launcher and i got in hope it helps

How it can be done? Sorry, not much expert on this.

Was set to not be an administrator, same issue. Swapped to admin, still no joy. I tried using a bad login/password combo and got nothing in return. I'm not sure if there's a feedback loop for bad inputs though.

Clarity! We are aware of Launcher issues currently, seems to be a side effect of something.

Appears to be the same behavior that was happening before the downtime.

Open launcher, click connect, no response.
Close launcher, open launcher, click connect, no response.
Close launcher, open launcher, click connect, no response.
Close launcher, open launcher, click connect, WAR.exe launches.

Not the best behavior from the launcher currently, but it worked. Also appears once the launcher connects, as long as it's left open it will launch the game properly. So try until it works, and then never close it again.

I've done everything that was suggested, any fixes i found in tons of thread here on RoR and youtube and google but NOTHING works. tried compatibilty modes (all of them) unchecked the read only box for all files and folders, ran launcher as administrator, uninstalled and reinstalled program (downloaded torrent*) and launcher over and over, reclosed and reopened the launcher over and over and over. Nothing had worked thus far. I don't even get an error message pop up anymore. When I open the task manager, run launcher, WAR.exe pops up for a split second (in task manager process screen) and then vanishes. I've played this game before through this service a year or so ago, maybe 2 at the most and it worked just fine. I have no idea what to do here and apparently no one else does either (?) help??

EDIT: The bad username/password tells me the combo is bad but then doesn't respond to the correct combination, must be reclosed and reopened to receive any input

That sounds like antivirus/firewall behavior closing the game because it doesn't like how the launcher modifies the war.exe process.
