that dotnet info is for native dotnet i guess. Nothing to do with wine.
I don't have native dotnet installed on my system.

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
I Installed dotnet from the software packages for some previous install instructions, can't remember what.
a previous comment you made about mono, triggered some thoughts, and found a thread in the mint forums that talked about problems with wine, and the package version being quite old, so I followed their advice to get the wineHQ repository set up and now have wine 9.17 installed.
still have the same error, in lutris and by running only "wine RoR...etc"
all the other games I have 'relocated' in lutris work fine and so do the things I run with 'wine some.exe'
So I'm at a loss, permissions ok, wine at top level, lutris latest, neither system package nor flatpack.
btw the macos side was a dead loss too, winery, playonmac and so on. - I am not buying crossover for this.
If I really must, I might try windows, but - eh? I am running a mac and a linux side by side for a reason. (they mostly work as server and game rig, so they stay running as they are normally, dual booting is a blue-moon I mostly never bother with)
Thanks for all the advice, maybe one day someone else will install it on mint and let us know eh?

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
Have you tried other installer links? maybe some of the files got corrupted somehow
might as well try replacing launcher from: https://launcher.returnofreckoning.com/RoRLauncher.exe
but yeah very strange issue. If i get some time over the weekend i will try linux mint on virtualbox and see how the installation behaves there.
edit:
found someone else with that issue on linux mint:
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/co ... plication/
try adding:
with a value
and maybe create that folder into the c_drive on prefix manually with your user also so it gets the correct permissions

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
Well, that’s good news!
I have implemented that as described and it worked!
So I installed again, unticked launch at the end of the install and went to the configuration, added the variable, ran it, nothing on screen, just fans running, system info told that the launcher was running. So I left it for 30mins assuming it was doing something required.
At that point, I quit it, enabled the logs, reran it. The launcher actually came up on screen, downloaded something, logged in, launched game.
In and testing!
So that’s one for the exception list, either mint is that weird, or the previous install of lutris as a flatpack caused something that isn’t resolved by removing the flatpack and going standard package.
Thanks again!

Great to hear!
Added that into troubleshooting section, in case anyone else runs into that issue.

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
Update: Unfortunately after restart its not working again, switch of the runner doesnt bring anything no matter which I try.
**Solved: Found that this was just a warning, for an missing info file, changing the runner in Lutris brought the solution as per today UMU-Proton-9.0-3.2 works!
Mint 22 Kernel 6.8.0-47-gen here, unfortunately I do receive
"Unable to read VR Path Registry from C:\users\epox\AppData\Local\openvr\openvrpaths.vrpath"
path is unfortunately empty, might be flatpack issue?
Logs:

Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
Would you mind posting a guide on how to set up Sildur's Shaders with the new 6.0 version they've released? I'm not good with Linux so I've failed to set it up myself.
Re: [Linux] How To Install Return of Reckoning
reshade is pretty finnicky with DXVK. So i would suggest using vkbasalt or gshade insteadSepplainer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:27 pm Would you mind posting a guide on how to set up Sildur's Shaders with the new 6.0 version they've released? you can hook up reshade shaders with vkbasalt. It requires more manual conf file editing though. Gshade should also be linux native and i think it has GUI to configure. Havent tried gshade with this game though. I personally use vkbasalt with just fakeHDR and sharpness.
