I think it has something to do with the Eyes wierdenes, when You equip shield.... Nobody wants to see theyr characters looks like Frankenstein Brother

I think the real question that needs to be asked here is why don't we see more Swordmasters dual-wielding?

SMs were supposed to be the DPS class, WL was to be the tank class but the insanity of a pet based tank class was just not meant to be sadly so were lost among with the melee orc shaman.

Well, according to lore WLs shouldn't be a pet based class anyways. WLs just kill a white lion as a rite of passage and then wear their skin, they don't hang out with them. Obviously, we all know that lore meant little when Mythic developed WAR.

If I remember correctly WL didn't mean to be a pet class originally and was redesign due to someone felt that it would be unfair that Destro had 2 petclasses while Order just 1. Considering the issues that came with petclasses AI and the how badly the pets plays in large scale combat, this was probobly a really bad decision.
