Look at TT models and in game gear pre warpforged, which were actually gear designed for the Asian launch of WAR, with more manga'd up (horrible) models and I doubt were by that point passed by GW like all original content had to be.

Warhammer was always been high fantasy with regards to monsters (though most earlier editions taken from world folklore), magic and chaos but quite low fantasy in technology compared to the new Age of Sigmar. Not to piss on anyones chips but that HE shield just isnt from anything Ive seen from TT.
I've fought enough high elves on the table to know that they LOVE wings and orbs. Sorry mate I gotta disagree, that is precisely the frilly dogma that infests high elven armour from toe to pointy ear.

Ive collected TT High Elves for over 20 years. Its really not. HE like elegance but practical elegance. Warhammer isnt that kind of high fantasy, youre thinking Age of Sigmar. Winged helmets for special characters were the most frilly thing.

While I admit that the SM shield isn't the traditional triangular kite shield that is used in TT, the goal here was a new shape using HE imagery, not a new image on the shield. Of course no weapon we design will be universally loved, but we are trying to make something new for the game. I am looking through the 6th ed+ army books for inspiration and working with my friend who is a concept artist for other ideas, but sometimes we think outside of the box.

Few things to remember when designing High Elves They aren’t Tolkien or wow elves. They are a dying race whose days are ending, white is the colour of mourning for high elves and they wear in reverence to their dead and the end of their race. They do not have large elaborate shields or heavy suits of plate mail because of weight or that it might slow them. Elves are stronger and quicker than most races and ithilmar is the lightest of metals. It is also the rarest and can only be forged by the blind smiths in Caledor. There just isn’t much of it.

I think you'll be able to get away with just adding more lion pelts, wings and red orbs to everything. High Elves take themselves far too seriously, you'll never design something that one won't turn his nose at.
Can't wait to see some original armour designs come out of this server too!

Armour is a bit more problematic. Don't expect it very soon.
